Our recent visit to Italy was spectacular! We met Paulus, who is the Ambassador to the suites, upon arrival and we quickly became friends! His charm, grace and vast knowledge of the hotel and area was a tremendous help to us. My husband and I had upgrade our room to the 5th floor. The views alone from our room were...

By way of one of the specials offered on the website, my wife and I booked a suite and recently returned from our trip wanting to write this review. The Suite & More program was enticing enough to convince us to spend a little extra since this was going to be a special trip. Our Suite Ambassador, Paulus Meershoek, and...

We stayed for our 40th wedding anniversary and had the room at the top with the great view of the Duomo. The room was beautiful and the views (on all 4 sides of our tower) absolutely stunning. The public areas and decor of the hotel are elegant and everything was spotlessly clean. The staff were always so helpful. Breakfast choice...

You want to see the Duomo and other sights in Florence this is the perfect hotel. The location is in the centre - close to everything you want to see. The rooms are amazing, the staff is perfect and the hotel feels very exclusive. For your sake i hope the elderly clerk will bring your luggage and show the hotel....

We have just returned from this beautiful hotel after a 5 night break and I cannot rate it highly enough. The exterior of the building is very attractive with it's tower. As you step inside you are greeted by friendly and very efficient and knowledgeable staff. All the public areas are pleasantly decorated with lamps, vases and diffusers with lovely...

The hotel is in a wonderful location. Tucked in a tiny square just near the Duomo. The hotel rooms are small but very well designed and, after a day walking around the sights of Florence, the beds are very welcomingly comfortable! My only gripe is that the common areas are soul less. We went into the lounge one day to...

The location of the Brunelleschi could not be better, right in the heart of the city, witheverything within easy walking distance. It is a beautiful small boutique hotel and has a warm and friendly ambience. Be sure to visit the Museum in the hotel which shows the roman ruins of the original building of which the tower still forms part...

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Brunelleschi to celebrate her 60th birthday and it was every bit the treat I intended it to be. It's central but quiet location made it the perfect base for exploring the many attractions that Florence has to offer. The Hotel itself has an up-market, boutique feel to it, the decor of which...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
