My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Paris shortly after Christmas 2010. The hotel is a good value and we would recommend it to other travelers, with a few quibbles that you should be aware of prior to your stay. Strengths: - Location: The Hotel Paris is ideally situated a few short blocks from both the train station and...

Dear Guests, we thank you very much for your such detailed review that it is very precious for us and for your kind words. As far as it regards the heating, we know that in Florence is very cold during this season particularly at night, but unfortunately we are allowed from the local government to put heating on no more...

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Paris in Florence for two nights in December 2010. We absolutely loved this hotel, it is clean, beautiful, historical, well-located, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The person at the front desk spoke flawless English, if you're into that kind of convenience when in Italy. Our lovely room in this old...

If you're reading this, then you probably found a great rate for this hotel online and asked yourself, "Wow, is this place too good to be true?" Well it really is that good, and under US$100/night, it's also one of the best value hotels I've ever stayed in, especially compared with the high rates elsewhere in Florence. And you even...

Dear Guest, I feel very sorry for the incovenience you had during your stay in our hotel. Please be aware that insect bites have nothing to do with cleanness of the rooms as insects are coming from outside. Anyway to solve this problem I need to know in which room you have been accommodated. I aslo would like to konw...

Although the Paris is a little worn, 500 year old building, the front desk was super helpful, breakfast wonderful, and location! 5 mins to Duomo, 10 mins to main train station. Book on line for discount.

I read some of the bad reviews about this hotel and maybe just because of luck we did not experience any of the same troubles except the street noise. The first night my mother and I arrived at the hotel we were exhausted after dealing with a delayed flight that cost us approximately 12 extra hours of travel time. When...

What a great feeling when you book a hotel, arrive, room is ready, the staff are exceptional and you get to your room and say - "Wow!". Biggest room I've ever seen for an European hotel. This is one of my most favourite hotels Central, friendly, clean, and odd in a good way and also extremely good value for money Converted into a hotel from an old nunnery so you sit in the breakfast room looking at fabulous old frescos on the ceiling while your toast cooks and the coffee percolates. Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
