Large rooms, cozy old style atmosphere and beautiful balconies facing a mediterranean garden... Breakfast was adequate, staff in dining area could be friendlier. However reception ladies were wonderful and went out of their way to assist. Point to improve: the carpets in the corridors and rooms are dust catchers, worn n slippery, watched other people stumble and slipped myself on...

excellent location within walking distance to all main attractions. The room (priority with spa) was beautiful, clean and spacious. The staff were efficiet, eager to help and pleasent. All questions and requests were answered. Lovely breakfast and beautifull settings all around. The garden is stunning, what a pleasure to sit in. excellent return for its price. Very good location to get to all the sites, but still very quiet. Garden area is lovely. Room size is ok, small by American standards, but for Italy it might be considered large. Nice shower, we had much smaller and less water pressure at other hotels. Very convenient to a lot of dining. Staff very helpful.

Rooms on the smaller side, but slept like a baby in a great king-size bed. Within walking distance of the Duomo and also of the synagogue. Very nice breakfasts. Good service and beautiful garden. Breakfast was good, in a very interesting room and setting.

We have stayed before, and would not hesitate to stay again. We found the staff pleasant and helpful, and the location is ideal, central but quiet. The garden is lovely in May. Our room was very comfortable, with a walk in shower, and really plentiful hot water, not always the case in Italian Hotels.

We stayed here 10 years ago and have just returned from another great week. It's a great place to stay, close to the city core yet tranquil and comfortable, easy to pop back to and close to walk out to choose an evening restaurant. We would have no hesitation in returning.

This hotel is located in the city centre and even though Florence is very crowded, this hotel is very private and very quiet. The hotel has a beautiful garden to relax in after a day's touring. With all the choices for hotels in Florence, I couldn't make a decision. So I asked around. My parents had stayed here about 15-20...

We stayed at eh Hotel Monna Lisa in Florence for 3 nights recently as part of a 2 week Italian holiday. As far as location; it was good, 10 -15 minutes walk took us to most of the city sights. As far as accommodation, the building is old and quaint, the rooms are quirky and fun, but a bit on...

Our family of four recently spent three nights at the Hotel Monna Lisa. The location is fabulous, a short walk from the major tourist sites, and conveniently located near several great restaurants. The hotel staff spoke excellent English and were extremely helpful with making restaurant reservations, etc. The continental buffet breakfast offered an extensive variety of foods including bread, cheese,...

Our agent booked this hotel for us after showing us photos months ago. When I just looked at the site again, I can't believe it's the same place. Lovely staff, nice location, interesting common areas, 500 years old but I'm pretty sure we got the chambermaids room. Disappointed since we spent a lot of money to stay here.

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
