Again, the best hotel in Florence, and for that matter, all over Italy. We have stayed at Hotel David before and our stay this week was even better (It rained the last time). The staff are wonderful, everyone has a smile on their faces, they make you feel so special as if you are arriving home. The rooms are great, the common areas are so cosy and happy hour in the gardens is delightful. There are plenty of Glitz and gold hotels, all over Firenze, but if you want just pure joy and comfort, and a hotel that does all the right things, Hotel David is just the place to stay.

We have stayed at Hotel David during 8 days and have enjoyed every single day. The service of the hotel staff was excellent and the atmosphere in Hotel David was very warm…we really felt at home immediately. Our room was very spacious & clean & fully equipped, every day there was a happy hour (drinks & appetizers) and the location was only 20 minutes walking (along the river side with nice views on Firenze) from the centre of Firenze (+ bus station very close – 1 minute - to the hotel)...We recommend this hotel to everyone visting Firenze.

I stayed here for longer than I have ever stayed at any one hotel: three weeks. All I can say is that all of the raves this hotel gets are well deserved. Every single member of the staff is focused on customer service, and they treat you as friends and family, no matter how long you stay. They seem to anticipate what guests need even before they say anything.
The included breakfast buffet is varied, high quality and plentiful, including eggs, cured meats, cheeses, all kinds of pastries, yogurt, cereal, fruit, etc. And they have a wonderful automatic espresso machine, a variety of juices and still and sparkling water. The breakfast room is nicely set up with tablecloths that are quickly replaced and everything is sanitized after each guest. There is also a nice outdoor dining area. They also have a happy hour for guests each evening, with wine, spritzers, non-alcoholic beverages and a variety of nibbles. On nice evenings, guests can relax in the outdoor garden area.
The location is outside the city center but Ponte Vecchio is an easy 15 minute walk along the river. It is also on several very helpful bus routes, and the front desk sells the 1.5 € bus tickets (just remember to validate them as you board the bus), making it quite easy to reach any part of the city center or the rail station. A number of excellent restaurants are in the immediate area, making it easy to dine locally in the evenings if you don’t want to trek back to the center. I also took advantage of the ‘deli’ just a few doors away, with a nice selection of wine, prepared foods, meats, cheeses and desserts.
Everything in the hotel is spotless and I returned to my room each day to find it completely refreshed and straightened up. The free minibar in the room was a very welcome feature, and I found it replenished each day with my Coke Zero and both sparkling and still water (and even a couple of beers). My room was on the third floor with a lovely view (I could even see the Duomo in the distance from the balcony). The elevator was also appreciated on days when my feet were already tired from so much walking (and when dealing with luggage). In talking with other guests, I know that those with cars really appreciated the fact that free parking was available for those with vehicles and that the hotel was outside the ZTL.
I usually have a hard time with hotel beds, but I have to say that even the bed was comfortable!
On previous visits to Florence, I have stayed in apartments right in the center, as well as at the Four Seasons and the St. Regis. Although not a 'fancy' hotel, Hotel David is where I will be staying when I return yet again to Florence.

The hotel is about 20 minutes’ walk to the Ponte Vecchio Bridge, which was perfect for us, as we like to stay a bit away from the hotspots. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the room was super clean. The happy hour (18:30 – 20:00) that included free drinks and canapes was a nice treat after walking around Florence all day, plus it was nice socialising with other guests over a few glasses of wine. There is also a free mini bar topped up daily in your room that includes beer, soft drinks and crisps. Plenty of choice for breakfast, which set us up for the day.
We were so glad we stayed here and would definitely stay here again!
I would recommend booking via their own website to get a much better price.

We stayed at Hotel David in 2015 and liked it so much we came back in 2021. This is one of our favorite hotels anywhere. The property is very well maintained, the rooms are quite large and the bathrooms are good sized. Beds are comfortable and there are two shower heads in the large showers: one with impressive water pressure and the other a huge rain-shower head. Decorations throughout are lovely. Staff is friendly and extremely helpful. There's free parking on premises (rare for a city). COVID precautions were taken seriously, which we appreciated. Unlike many hotels that cut their breakfast service during COVID, Hotel David provided full-scale breakfasts in a safe way. And even though it was October and chilly, they were happy to set an outside table for us so we could eat outside. Best of all is their generous complimentary happy hour each night, with tasty tapas, beer, wine and drinks. We were so glad to stay here again and wouldn't think of staying anywhere else in Florence.

A fantastic family run classical style hotel, with friendly helpful staff. Our room was spacious clean and had air con. The breakfast was good with a wide selection to choose from and staff are very helpfully in all maters. The hotel have their own great little map of the city centre and cites, with marked restaurants and cafes etc to help you which was an added bonus. The hotel is south of the river and It’s a 10 minute walk to the city centre but there’s bus stop right outside the hotel and its only a 3 minute ride and your in the city centre (€1:50) Number C4 goes to & past the Ponte Vecchio Bridge and Number 23 bus Which stops just around the corner from the hotel and it takes you in to the city and up to the museum Dell’Accademia David, Or you can get a taxi for €15. There are shops and restaurants all within a 5 minute walk from the hotel which all the locals use. Fully recommend a stay in this hotel.

This hotel is a bit out of town, but so worth the extra distance for the extra amenities provided. The staff was super helpful, the room was large and spotless, the breakfast was plentiful, and the nightly happy hour was perfect. This hotel really provides for the guests; free 20 minute long distance phone call, excellent bath products including conditioner, two hour happy hour with lots of selection on food and drinks, bud tix for sale to ride the bus into town, helpful map, and staff with a smile. Would stay here again for sure. Thank you for a quiet stay in such a busy city during the holidays.

I read all the reviews and chose to stay at Davids! Let me tell you this is my first visit to Florence Italy and it was such an amazing experience at their hotel. I will be back and I’ll be bring the kids. I even extended my stay from three nights to four nights because I loved it so much. All of the staff members were pleasant and very helpful with anything we needed. They even got us reservations last minute into a restaurant. They even have a free happy hour! You have time to meet people that are staying in your hotel. There’s parking for your vehicles what I did on my trip is I stayed there rented a vehicle in drove out daily . Best way to go hands-down parking is free and they take care of your vehicles! Nice job to the staff and management at their hotel! Rooms are very clean and they make sure to sanitize everything especially I noticed the woman in the breakfast room sanitizing each table after each guest left! I wish I could remember her name but she had blonde hair and she did an amazing job as I seen her daily for breakfast.

We love Hotel David, Truly excellent and attentive service in a beautiful hotel with lovely rooms and public spaces and extremely careful attention to Covid safety. Not only the staff and premises are amazing, but the included/complementary breakfast and apperitivo hour (at outside tables for safety) make this hotel an incredible value. Even parking on site, if you need it, and convenient Oltrarno location with a 20' walk to Ponte Vecchio or 1 minute walk to a stop where compact busses whisk you down along the Arno if you prefer. Highly recommend for your Florence stay.

Arriving with a car is a little bit interesting, but once you find a spot to temporarily stop in, reception quickly helps you to their parking area. Parking is secure and the keys are left at the front desk. The staff are gracious, professional and welcoming. This is a beautiful hotel with wonderful public rooms and a delightful outdoor area for happy hour. We chose the romantic room which is on the main floor because of its size. A spacious room with a queen four poster bed, beautifully decorated and with hardwood floors. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, the room very quiet with double doors so no noise from the hallway, double windows plus outside roller shades for noise reduction and darkness - perfect. We slept very well here! The bathroom was spacious and there was plenty of hot water and lots of volume. Beautiful tiles, everything spotlessly clean! An enormous rain shower head plus a handheld shower.
There were two suitcase benches which I’m sure if you read my reviews you tire of me saying but why don’t all hotels provide two spots for suitcases for a couple? Who travels with one suitcase between two people? Great job Hotel David! The A/C worked well and the wi fi signal was strong. Breakfast was a buffet of scrambled eggs, meats, cheese, cereals and ‘fantastic’ croissants. Happy Hour from 7:00 to 8:00 is a very nice surprise. One is not sure what to expect when a hotel says they have Happy Hour but the array of snacks from chips, peanuts to petite sandwiches, pasta salad and much more was a pleasant surprise. Bottles of wine are set out and enjoying all of it either indoors in the public rooms or outside is a nice way to end a hectic day in Florence. In addition, the mini bar in your room is also complimentary with coke and beer. Hotel David is a 25 minute walk to historic centro but it is a pleasant walk. For us the location was ideal, out of the historic centro but close enough to walk to. We took our time choosing a hotel for Florence and were very happy we chose Hotel David. When in Florence, it will be our hotel of choice.
