Hotel Pendini garners appreciation for its spacious and charming rooms, combining historic elegance with contemporary comforts, although some guests have pointed out noise and maintenance issues. The central location is a highlight, offering easy access to Florence's attractions and earning praise for its value, including a satisfying breakfast. While the attentive service receives acclaim, the vibrant sounds from the square may be a drawback for light sleepers. The hotel's overall cleanliness and amenities receive positive remarks, despite occasional comments on the absence of in-room coffee facilities.

The Hotel Pending was an excellent place to stay in Florence. It is facing the Piazza della Repubblica, and our room for 4 people faced all the hustle and bustle of the piazza, which is what we wanted. The hotel is well kept, but is like a boutique hotel that has classical furnishing, painting, and a rich decor. You can always have a tea or juice in the reading room (which most people skip by). The hotel has two elevators, which are your typical tinier ones you find in Europe.
The room for 4 people was enormous by any standards, and had high ceilings. The window opened, of course, and the AC was great. It had a huge bathroom, with a shower on one end, and a bath with shower on the other.
Breakfast was quite nice, though the room was on the cozy side (fine with me). Tables were set very nicely in a sunny, bright room, with plenty of options (like scrambled eggs, bacon, a variety of toast, croissants, jams, butter, muslix, etc). Staff would bring you a cappuccino if requested, which had a cocoa smile on it.
Staff was professional, helpful, and friendly. One of the staff even brought in his needle that I needed for deflating a soccer ball. So really nice experience.
Tips: Parking is tricky, and I would avoid driving into Florence in general. We did this because of our plans. But if you do drive, the hotel provides a reasonable option. The parking is providing to the hotel l by a garage, and it'll cost you 28 Euros per night (summer 2022). This is reasonable considering it's valet parking, and you pay the hotel when you check out. You don't need to worry about the ZTL issues, as they take care of registering the vehicle plates so you don't get dinged 150 Euro ticket (!).

I would stay at the Hotel Pendini again. You will walk everywhere, and hear and see everything around the hotel area.

The Hotel was perfect, clean, beautiful and in the best location of the city. The room just need to have a fridge or bottles of water to be perfect. I think a 4-star hotel really need to provide guests with this minimum requirement.

The location is excellent, the room has character and is clean, good view from the room onto the Piazza della Repubblica. The bathroom is very good - clean, the shower doesn't leak and one doesn't have to wait until warm water starts running (problems in so many other hotels). However, on Friday and Saturday very loud music played in the piazza until after 1 am, and it wasn't possible to sleep. On Sunday, there were no free places in the breakfast room when we came, and the queue was managed poorly - people who came later were invited to the breakfast room ahead of those who had come earlier.

Location
Easy walking distance from almost every tourist destination, including train station SM Novella. It’s not the hotel’s fault, but central Florence can be loud in general at night. If you hate noise at night, you need to find a hotel away from the city center. Luckily, we were so tired from exploring all day that the noise did not keep us awake.

Room
We stayed in the standard room size that came with one double bed. The room was clean and cozy, yet not cramped. The bed was comfortable for my wife and I (both of us are six feet), the wi-fi was great, and despite cold temperatures outside the heater inside kept us warm.

Bathroom
The bathrooms are not luxurious, but are fine. The heating rack for towels doubled as a drying rack for clothes we washed in shower, which saved us money and time versus a laundromat.

Language/Staff
All the staff we interacted with spoke fluent English and were professional and courteous. We appreciated them letting us keep our bags at the hotel after we checked out so we could spend our final day exploring unencumbered and then pick our bags up in the evening.

Once you connect to the wi-fi, it connects you to a resource page to help you find restaurants, sights to see, etc. While we didn’t need it, it was a great resource to have for free just in case.

Breakfast
Fantastic! COVID restrictions were in place during our stay, yet a staff member politely did all the food handling and service. Although Italians generally don’t do large breakfasts, we couldn’t refuse a complimentary plate of eggs, bacon, pastries, cappuccino, and espresso.

Price
We paid $81 a night and thought it was a great value.

We stayed in this beautiful hotel for 2 nights in a cuadruple room. It is an old building that has been updated keeping the classical decoration that you would expect in Florence. It's location is perfect, you have a magnificent square view outside your window, a very good complementary breakfast every morning attended by a very friendly staff so you won't loose time to enjoy the city.

There are plenty of restaurants to choose from in the vecinity, all the main attractions are at walking distance, the train station is about half mile away and depending on the traffic, the airport is about 20 to 30 minutes away. If you walk by the street you may miss the entrance because it doesn't have a great lobby, actually the lobby is on the top floor, but the interior is very nice. It is a very practical option, good beds, nice and very clean bathroom, very good breakfast, perfect location. Will certanly return to this hotel in the future.

A group of 8 of us spent for 4 nights at this hotel. As the hotel is situated on Freedom Square, it is in close proximity to the river, the Duomo and the major galleries. The hotel occupies the third and fourth floor of the building and access is gained by two elevators. Although not large, the rooms are well appointed with updated baths. The wait staff in the breakfast room was extremely helpful and the range of food items was quite extensive. When we mentioned at the reservations desk that we would be touring before the breakfast room was open, they went ahead prepared bagged breakfasts which was very considerate. Also very close to a pharmacy that offered Covid testing for those needing this documentation to fly home.

Ideal location, right on Piazza Repubblica, between Duomo and Pontevecchio, in a historical building. Great history also is in the hotel itself, lots of masterpieces, pictures, ancient furniture and antique things. Very high ceiling and big windows. You stay there like in a museum. The atmosphere is so warm, the staff is kind and hospitable. The breakfast is served in the room in the arch, hanging over Via degli Strozzi and connecting this building to the other one on the opposite side of the street. It is really a unique opportunity! The views to the city are amazing. All is at a good level. The best central 3* Hotel in Florence, comfortable and very particular!

I only spent one night at Hotel Pendini (sadly my last in Italy), but it was definitely a positive experience. The location -just off Piazza del Repubblica, is outstanding and convenient for walking to all that Florence has to offer. The reception, (on the 4th floor with a small elevator) was friendly and efficient, and the decor was unique and tasteful. My room had large windows, high ceilings, a crystal chandelier, marble accented bathroom and antique furnishings. The bed was very comfortable and the linens were crisp and lovely. For such a central location it was surprisingly quiet overnight, the blackout drapes helped with sleeping as well.
I chose a "Breakfast Included" option and the breakfast, served buffet-style did not disappoint. There was a very good selection of hot items, pastries, yogurt, fruit, juices and hot beverages. A friendly server was also taking orders for custom espresso drinks.
Definitely recommend & would stay again.

Amazing hotel—highly recommend! The location cannot be beat— you are truly a 5 - 10 min walk from everything. The hotel was incredibly clean and filled with history. The breakfast was so good and they have done such a great job making everyone feel comfortable with COVID (they will serve you instead of buffet style). I still think some of the best croissants we had in all of Italy were at this breakfast!!

The staff were incredibly nice and helpful. It was clear they were taking the COVID protocols seriously, but still wanted to provide great service — and we are incredibly thankful for that!

We will absolutely stay here again whenever we return to Florence as it is such a great value!

Hotel Pendini had a great location in central Florence that was within walking distance of all the sights we wanted to see- super convenient. They provided a valet parking service for our rental car that was very smooth and helped eliminate another task of finding a garage in Florence. The rooms were quite clean and well decorated. The staff were always friendly and were able to hold our bags for a few extra hours after we checked out of our room on the last day. However, the wifi was a bit spotty and the breakfast room got pretty full around 8-9 and some families had to wait before getting a seat. Overall we had a good experience and hotel pendini provided great service.
