I have been staying at Hotel Calzaiuoli since it opened about 34 years ago and has not let me down. The location in No. 1 and not too expensive for a Boutique Hotel. It is very clean and the staff are attentive and helpful.

My husband and I met my parents and aunt in Florence in Thanksgiving 2016. We stayed 10 days at Hotel Calzaiuoli and used Florence as our hub to explore Tuscany and Rome. This hotel is on a mainly pedestrian street. Vehicles are permitted, but they are restricted. Its very nice to exit the hotel and be in the pedestrian bustle...

My wife and I came on a pre-Easter break to Florence; the hotel was recommended to us by a friend who stayed at the hotel last year. His recommendation and the hotel itself met our full expectations. The Hotel is bang in the centre between Piazza Duomo and Piazzi Della Signioia. The décor of the Hotel was classy and of...

Hotel was excellent. Clean. Good size rooms and breakfast to start your day was very good. There is only one downside and that may be age dependant. The hotel is situated on a very busy street and the noise never stops. We stayed for four nights and whether is was drunken shouts at 3 and 4 am or workers shouting...

We stayed at the Calzaiuoli for 5 nights and were more than a little disappointed. We picked the hotel based on location and reviews. The hotel is centrally located in the historic center. There is nothing that you can’t walk to but then again historic Florence is quite small so it does not matter that much where your hotel is...

It was the breakfast that really made the experience. Even at the most expensive and "finest" hotels, breakfast is pre-packaged, warmed up cra.... Not here. From the jams to the fresh tortes - quality. Clean, friendly and a fabulous location.

Great location! We easily fit three adults into our room. It was a bit noisy at night with the windows open, but given the location I guess that was to be expected. I would definitely stay here again.

Our family of 5 stayed in two lovely rooms for a couple nights. Our two-room suite was large, bright, very clean and perfect for 5 people. We were especially appreciative of the beverages and small snacks available just about every time we stepped into the dining room. We arrived a bit early and were very happy to wait in the...

Good location, nice staff and very nice breakfast. Walking distance to many sights in the city. Noisy from street activity until about 2 AM or so but didn't really bother us too much.. one issue was the strong lingering smell of cigarettes in our room although we were told this is a non-smoking hotel

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
