Staff were extremely helpful and accommodating, but the hotel itself just seems a little tired, the rooms were a decent size but again a little tired and faded. We stayed for a week and there was certainly no complaint about service, the central location of this hotel I think was the positive overriding factor.

Dear guest, thank you for sharing your experience at our hotel with us. We are delighted to know you appreciated the central location of our historical palace, that belongs to the end of the xvi century and is under the care of Fine Arts. For this reason, we are not allowed us to make great changes, but we keep on...

An Italian 4 star gem. It's 4 star due to brilliant location and our room on 5th floor was outstanding. The view across Florence is incredible . The breakfast room is closer to sitting in a museum. The staff were excellent. So if you want an Italian experience not a traditional 4 star this is the place to stay. The...

This hotel has a fantastic location. 4 minutes from the Duomo and firmly in the city center. The room was a good size, but the walls were a bit blemished. I recognize that it is a 400 year old palace, but some touchup paint is in order. We were on the 3rd floor (4th floor for those of you in...

The hotel is very antique and well preserved. You will run into antiques ceiling chandeliers, mirrors, lamps, carpets anywhere. Staying and admiring the hotel is quite worthwhile if you enjoy an ancient Florence architect. The hotel is still using key not cards for entrance. Staff English is not so good and as usual not so friendly. You got to pay...

Average, comfortable hotel. Found the staff to be very helpful. Only stayed one night, but it was my first night in Florence and I was happy with the location of the hotel. We had read mixed reviews on here about this hotel which we had booked as part of a package. We were upgraded on arrival to a Junior Suite and liked the quirky character of our room. The hotel is an old palace full of interesting decorated rooms, and has an amazing salon where a reasonable buffet breakfast is served which...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Hotel Boscolo Astoria Firenze is the ideal choice for your stay: you'll be accommodated in the rooms of the Palazzo Gaddi and Palazzo Arrighetti, historic buildings belonging to noble Florentine families, where art recounts the passage of centuries every step of the way. Indeed, it was while living at Palazzo Gaddi that the great English author John Milton found inspiration for his masterpiece, Paradise Lost, and in these very rooms that he wrote it. The noble past of Hotel Boscolo Astoria Firenze is also reflected in its location: the church of Santa Maria Novella, abounding in great art, is right nearby (as is the convenient railway station with the same name), and a short stroll will take you directly to Florence's historic centre. An undeniable advantage that puts the most beautiful areas of the city right at your fingertips. The prestigious salons of the luxury Hotel Boscolo Astoria Firenze, decorated in original Florentine Baroque style, are the perfect backdrop for important events. The restaurant will pamper you with typical Tuscany and Mediterranean dishes. ... more   less
