We reserved one double and one triple room to accommodate our family of 5 (including 3 older teens) for 4 nights. Everything was just as described - comfortable beds, peaceful rooms with ample space, beautiful design, excellent service/housekeeping and wonderful location - walkable to just about everything. Lots of little details like cold still and sparkling water in the room fridge, numerous outlets, powerful a/c to escape the heat, nice toiletries, etc. made our stay feel special. Don't miss the incredible breakfast buffet! Happy hour in the lobby bar is also very nice and Francisco's cocktails are top notch. Service was great from start to finish. Highly recommend!

The Hotel Spadai is a wonderful property in the heart of Florence, steps from the Duomo, and an easy walking distance to the major sites and museums. We stayed five nights, and really loved the comfort and convenience of the hotel.
We were welcomed with a complimentary bottle of wine to enjoy in our room, and we also enjoyed the happy hour at the hotel bar.
The staff was very attentive - at breakfast one morning my wife was reminiscing about some chocolate crepes she had years ago in France. The staff must have overheard, and the next morning they brought her one!
The breakfast buffet was included in the rate and is absolutely amazing—an array of hot foods, breads and cakes, charcuterie, and fresh fruits.
The property is only about eight years old, and the room (we had booked a “comfort double” directly on the hotel’s website) was very quiet and cozy with a modern bathroom. The soundproofing was excellent and we slept very well. We will not stay anywhere else when we return to Florence!

We have just spent 4 wonderful days at this hotel. It is a little pricier than some others but we wanted somewhere special to celebrate our Silver Wedding Anniversary and my goodness did we choose well.
The hotel actually gives excellent value for money because so many extras are included. There was a voucher for free prosecco on arrival, a free minibar, restocked everyday with water, juice, beer, sodas and snacks as well as coffee and biscuits. The toiletries were also great with everything that you might need.
I think that the breakfast that they offer is probably one of the best I’ve ever seen. There was so much choice of both sweet and savoury, hot and cold on the buffet, so many cakes, types of fruit, hams, cheeses, bacon, eggs vegs and in addition to that you could order omelets, porridge etc
Our room was spacious and extremely comfortable and the whole hotel feels cool, fresh and clean.
The service wasexemplary with friendly, attentive staff in every role.
We were a little sad to leave and move onto our next location but will definitely be back

PROS: the location is incredibly central, which we were concerned about but ultimately didn't pose a problem with noise, etc. You are quite literally steps from the Duomo.
The room's minibar is completely free and is restocked daily with 2 still waters, 2 sparkling, 1 beer, and a couple of light snacks. Great blackout curtains.
CONS: the common areas of the hotel smelled like ammonia all four days we were there. Must be the cleaning product but we literally avoided the lobby & stairs because of it.
The shower in our room was so poorly designed that it actually impacted my stay. The rainfall showerhead was so massive that it covered almost the entire shower. The handle to turn the water on/off was located on the wall opposite the shower door. This meant that not only was it impossible to shower without getting your hair wet, it was nearly impossible to even turn the water on without doing so. Finally, the shower door inexplicably opened in two places, at the corner. When I was able to contort myself to turn on the water, and then again to switch from the rainfall showerhead to the handheld, the placement of the handheld meant that when used, it shot out of the shower doors, soaking the floor. We had to request new towels daily because we had to sop the floors after each shower.

Dear Julesmo22, Thank you for taking the time to leave your personal feedback. We are glad you appreciated the location and our free minibar. We are sorry you smelled ammonia in our common areas, and that this caused you so many troubles that you did not pass through the lobby for this reason. However, we are honestly surprised about the matter, since we do not use this product to clean any area of our hotel. Moreover we have several Acqua dell'Elba room scenting agents, a typical tuscan excellence, in all our hotel. Concerning the shower, we are astonished that the use of it was so difficult as much as it impacted on your stay. All our showers have a rain showerhead and a small shower for those who do not want to get their hair wet. Kindly note our Reception Staff is 24 hours available for any request and we always do all our best to satisfy Guests' needs so we could certainly have helped you with the explanation of the shower or we could have changed your room and assigned one with a bathtub. We hope to have the chance of welcoming you back and we take this occasion to send you our regards. Jessica Resident Manager

I cannot fault this hotel! From reception to security to those in the restaurant and the cleaners, everyone was so friendly and helpful. The breakfast included in the room rate was one of the best I've ever had (and I have travelled the world) and even has some great hot options for us Brits or American guests who might miss our bacon and eggs elsewhere! We had just a 'standard' room but the bed was big and comfortable, the bathroom spacious with a really good shower, and most importantly, the aircon worked and was quiet! The location is simply unbeatable of course, just seconds from all the places and shops you will want to visit. If you might want the window open and insist on a room with a view, then bring earplugs of course as you would anywhere - but otherwise just ask for a room looking on to a side or back street which are very quiet. And to cap it all, the price was very reasonable even in high season end of March. The equivalent quality in any other major city could have been 2x to 3x the price. You will not regret a stay here.

I don't know what is stopping this hotel from getting the fifth star! It absolutely has a 5 star personality and service. Approximately a 15 minute walk from the tram it was easy to find and the location was perfect for navigating the city. The hotel is beautiful, very modern yet aesthetically traditional. We were greeted cheerfully at the front desk with a voucher for a free drink at the bar and given our keys. We had 3 adults in the room visiting Florence for the half marathon, and it was more than big enough. Plenty of storage space, massive bed and a pull out single bed that was very comfortable. The ceiling was wooden with a velux window and blind. The pressure in the shower was perfect. There was a really sweet turn down service where we would find a few chocolates by the bed. We would also find random notes around the room to let us know they had cleaned that corner or under the bed. It was spotless. The breakfast is phenomenal. I have stayed in 4 and 5 star hotels and this was by far the most extensive spread I have ever seen. The staff were so cheerful and helpful, they could not so enough for you. They honestly seem to want you to have the best experience. Beside the breakfast room, there is an old spiral staircase. if you walk to the top of this they have installed a lookout point with signage to show you all the landmarks you can see from that point. Honestly, if I could pick up this hotel and staff and move it, it would be flawless. The only issue was the noise. It is a stones throw from the Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore and so you do get night time revellers passing by and the sound proofing is non existent. As I said, the ceiling is wooden and the windows are also wooden offering no noise exclusion. We did stay over a weekend which meant we were awake every night with the noise. The bells of the cathedral also start at 7am and can be clearly (and loudly) heard from the rooms. For example, I set a 7am alarm the morning of the race which was unnecessary as I could not hear the alarm over the noise of the bells. I honestly would still recommend this hotel as the room does offer ear plugs and I should have availed of them. I do feel it is a very small price for the level of comfort, cleanliness and luxury the hotel offers.

Currently on the first leg of our Italy trip and stayed in this boutique hotel in the heart of Florence. I can honestly say that this experience was one of the best I have ever had in a hotel. We booked a nice room to begin with and to our surprise were upgraded to an incredible suite. The suite was huge and had a large living room with pullout bed along with a washroom /shower all in bright white marble. The main bedroom was roomy with a washroom that had a huge jacuzzi bathtub. The bed was a king and so comfy ! There were two large screen tvs in the suite as well as a coffee maker and mini fridge. A huge buffet breakfast with a delicious assortment of food was included in our stay. The front desk staff were helpful, exceptional and we felt so welcomed during our stay. Would definitely recommend this hotel 10/10.

Hotel Spadai was a fantastic choice for our stay in Florence. The location is perfect, just steps from the Duomo and an easy walk to the Accademia, high end shopping, and some nice dining spots.
The hotel itself is sleek and modern, with a comfortable, contemporary feel that will appeal to American travelers. Our room was spacious, beautifully designed, and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The front desk staff was always polite and helpful, whether we needed recommendations or directions (and we did).
But the real standout was the breakfast. Easily one of the best we’ve had in Italy. They had everything: American-style breakfast meats and eggs, an impressive selection of pastries, fresh fruit (even pomegranate), cured meats, cheeses, and good coffee. It was the perfect way to start each day.
Hotel Spadai delivered on every level: comfort, convenience, and hospitality. We’d happily stay here again.

One of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed at. We spent a week and the staff were consistently warm and eager to help in any way they could. The room was smallish but spotless, well appointed, and comfortable and the bathroom was large and downright luxurious. The daily breakfast buffet was extensive and of high quality and they included another buffet of snacks to accompany drinks at their small bar in the evening. Best of all, the location, right near the Duomo, was perfect to was to the historic sites and museums of Florence. For all that, the rates are very reasonable. It’s a real gem!
