The Grand Hotel Mediterraneo is an excellent choice when staying in Florence. The rooms are large and well appointed. The service is top-notch! The location of the hotel is ideal. You are within a 10 minute walk to Florence's historic city center. It is also approximately 15 minutes walk from the Uffizi Gallery and Ponte Vecchio. The river is directly...

We stayed at the Grand Hotel Mediterraneo while on a Riviera Tour. I would rate this hotel a 3.5 Star due to our unusual room (more on that later) - but it probably deserves a 4. However, I am basing it on our overall experience, which earned it a 3.5. The lobby is quite nice with plentiful seating areas, which...

For what we paid the hotel was good value but beware that the hotel is used mostly by tour groups who tend to take over everything. We stayed for 3 nights and on two consecutive night we could not use the bar area for drinks or for food as the whole area was reserved for a tour company. The noise...

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights in October as part of a tour package. The hotel and location were very good. Modern room, large bedroom with desk and plenty of storage for your suitcases. We were on side by alley where noise was slight issue, by the time we were done walking all day we passed out...

A very well equipped hotel centrally located within reasonable walking distance from the Old bridge. Room was comfortable, our reservation included breakfast which buffet style served in a designated room, the selection was varied but the staff was hurried and not very attentive to the clients. The selection and quality of coffee was less than average.

The Grand Hotel Mediterraneo is a large, modern hotel a good 15 minute walk from Florence's center. As other reviewers have stated, it caters to large tour groups, which is why our 46 member group was booked there. Breakfast was included and had the greatest variety of the places we stayed, though the coffee was terrible. Rooms were very clean...

This is a large hotel which is situated just across the road from the Arno river. It caters for large numbers of tour groups mostly from USA, China and Japan but the others were well represented by British and Italians. The rooms are cleaned daily with a full change of towels and bedding and the bathroom is well appointed. There...

Part of our 12 day tour was 2 nights at the Mediterraneo. Nothing great but it is a comfortable, clean hotel in the mix of things. Rooms were small by American standards but clean and well decorated. Breakfast was ample for anyone, beverages, pastries, eggs, cereal. Rooms were cleaned well and staff very courteous. Would stay here again if in...
