I have had the pleasure of staying at the il Guelfo Bianco 10 years ago. I remembered the hotel today and booked it. Well, it was an even better experience the second time around. The location was perfect and the staff was amazing thanks to...More
Great hotel near the train station. When we arrived, our room on the top floor was actually being shot for some sort of e-brochure. To compensate, the staff gave us welcome drinks and were generally helpful. Front desk advised us to still go to the...More
Just arrived home after a 7 night stay at this wonderful hotel. The il Guelfo Bianco has it all, fantastic city location, beautiful interior, food and best of all a friendly team. Although there are many places to eat in Florence we had food three...More

San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on
Florentine dishes as well as international selections. Nobody leaves San Lorenzo without a shopping bag in hand or with an empty stomach.

During my many stays at the hotel I've seen someone at the front desk at all times, day & night, and they are right next to/have a clear line of sight to the entrance. Taxi fares from the airport to Florence are fixed rate, thinking it was around 22 euros plus 1 Euro for each bag. Might be a little extra for late night/holiday trips. Be sure to let the hotel know about your expected late arrival.

Sorry I missed this question. There is one but for our room there were still about 7 stairs up to our door so if stairs are a concern be sure to email the hotel to ask for a room that is accessible only by elevator. :)
