I don't love the station area, a bit noisy and surely less charmy. The hotel is anyway good and i Got a very good quality:price ratio. Rooms a spaciious and decently equipoed. Breakfast buffet is very good with a lot of variety. Free fast wifi though unstable, vpn connections for business traveller keeps disconnecting

We stayed here for 3 nights location was great near to the Center and the station. We checked in and was given a room on the 6th floor. I opened the door looked at my partner and we walked back out in shock at how horrendous it was! The smell was pungent it was so humid and dusty cabinets were...

Clean hotel which is in a great location. Rooms are large but quirky, which space pod furniture. Very noisy though as a tram line is right outside the hotel and no other way to regulate the temperature other than open the window

Checking in was painless. The staff were friendly and efficient. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. The street outside the hotel was busy but once you got familiar with the trains and the surrounding areas it worked well for us.

the Hotel Londra is ideally situated 200 meters from the train station. Additionally, it is within walking distance of virtually all of the "need to see" sites in the city. The room was very comfortable with a nice balcony overlooking parts of the city. The buffet breakfast was reasonable with American and European choices. The only concern we had was...

We should not have stayed at this hotel as we were booked into another one. We arrived at our hotel and due to refurbishment we were moved. Luckily this hotels location was ideal, within 5 minutes walk of the train station for our onward journey to Venice. Room was very nice with a very comfortable superking size bed, nice en-suite...

But not more and not if you're a tourist. The area is not very nice, the room was super small for the price but mostly the staff are not friendly. I had to find somewhere private after we checked out for maternity purposes so I asked the lady at the check-in desk. She coldly recommended the smoking room. I tried...

Stayed here for 2 nights in August. Close proximity to the train/bus terminal which was a plus. It was about 20-35 mins walk from most of the attractions. The statue of David being the furthest away. The hotel was recently renovated so we got a really nice modern looking room with a Queen size bed and a balcony. Everything was...

Not where I'd choose to spend a long time in Florence but perfect for overnight/short stay when you need to be close to the station. Rooms are okay for the price. There are loads of options at breakfast and free wi fi throughout is a bonus.

Stayed here a couple of times and loved the closeness to the Rail and sites, breakfast just great and champagne for breakfast is a must. Staff are really good and friendly, rooms are clean and well maintained. Happy to recommend .

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
