I'm reluctant to write this as I don't want anyone else to know about this gorgeous guest house run by an equally gorgeous couple, Michel and Cinzia. 1865 Residenza d'Epocha is the perfect place to stay in Florence. It is a refuge from the hustle...More
Michel and Cinzia were marvelous hosts, making us feel welcome and sharing several tips on how best to enjoy Florence. Michel was helpful in securing us last-minute tickets to the Uffizi Gallery and the Academia. Our room was terrific--comfortable, spacious, and elegant. The soaking tub...More
We sadly only stayed at 1865 for a single night, as we were heading out of town. It feels like a boutique bed & breakfast, and the proprietors are incredibly gracious, kind and a delight to talk to. We definitely felt like they were going...More
We stayed at this boutique hotel for 3 nights and had such a wonderful time! The building itself is right down the street from the synagogue, and in a quiet neighborhood away from all the tourist traps. It has a very neat old elevator (that...More

Without a doubt spending 6 nights in a 1865 Rezidenza d’epoca was a highlight while staying in Florence. Located in residential area within walking distance from everything, incredibly comfortable, different, decorated with exceptional taste and...More
Stop and stare at the beauty and symmetry of the Basilica of Santa Croce any time day or night. Unraveling around it are a number of architectural and artistic masterpieces, from the Synagogue to the Central National Library. As a hub for young people, the area gets busy with people who want to have fun: a continuous flow of tourists and locals become animated by songs and dances.

Apologies for the delay in replying. It takes about 20-25 mins from the airport in a taxi. We arrived by train from Venice and it was only a 10 minute ride from the train station. When flying home, it couldn't have been easier - there is a button you press in the hotel and a taxi turned up 10 minutes later. I think it was about €25 with a tip.
I would thoroughly recommend this place.
