A comfortable pensione on a relatively quiet street near the Ponte Vecchio. The staff is very kind and helpful, and Andrea in particular is quite knowledgeable about the neighborhood. The breakfast is what you want, whether that is just a quick espresso or bacon and eggs. Highly recommended.

HOTEL’S FAVOURITE REVIEW

We stayed at the Hotel Alessandra in Florence for 3 days and we definitely fell in love with the hotel and the city. The hotel is located in one of the quiet backstreet s of Florence and basically right in the center. All the major sights (e.g. Ponte Vecchio, Piazza della Signoria, Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, Uffizi Gallery,...

Hotel Alessandra has great service (Mama, Andrea, Monte and the rest). The location is in walking distance of museum's piazza's, churches, great restaurants and the river. It's a quaint little hotel, but is big on servicing it's guests. I would recommend this hotel to family and friends.

I fell in love with this hotel! The rooms were large and comfortable, and ours even had a beautiful view of the river. Bathrooms are one of the major factors I judge hotels on and I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the bathroom and quality of the shower. It is a family run hotel and it was easy...

Hotel in a great location for everything. Fantastic staff, clean rooms and good breakfast. The hotel is in a very old building and you need to remember this and appreciate the building. The lift is an engineering feat! Bet you couldn't get one made like it today. All in all a great place to stay and good value for money....

First of all, I have to say that this hotel had an excellent location and the receptionist spoke excellent English and gave us some good advice at the beginning, though later he was in a hurry every time he saw us and couldn't get rid of us fast enough. The breakfast was average. The big drawback of this hotel is firstly...

We certainly do have time for everyone and all their questions, as so many reviews here have testified, so we are sorry that we may have appeared short on time with you - we can assure you that was not the case! My husband and I stayed three nights at Hotel Alessandra starting 11/17/16. The hotel is up some stairs, but that is really is no big deal. There is a small elevator mid-way should you need help. You are greeted by a friendly person who is well versed in all things Florence, escorted to your room, and offered a complimentary glass...

Staying in Uffizi

Neighbourhood Profile
Uffizi
Every visitor coming to Florence for the first time will immediately identify with Uffizi. As in past times, passing through Via dei Calzaiuoli, you can reach the city center, the Florence that everybody dreams of. In just a few steps, visitors can experience the rare beauty of the capital of the Renaissance. walking delighted across Palazzo Vecchio and overlooking Piazza della Signoria, up to the Loggia of the Uffizi where it is possible to fully taste the talent of the best artists who animated Florence over the centuries. When the sun goes down, there’s nothing better than a walk along the river Arno up to the ancient bridge, Ponte Vecchio. It is full of jewels and decorated by the colors captured in postcards.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Our family run hotel is right in the heart of Florence old town - near to the Uffizi Gallery and Ponte Vecchio. Without doubt, Hotel Alessandra is one of the most centrally located hotels in Florence. In this privileged position, Hotel Alessandra offers a home away from home, with our friendly team and extensive knowledge of the local area. The hotel entrance is situated on the second floor of the building. You can reach the reception floor using the lift, small but working fine (in the 1400s buildings hadn't been designed with this in mind!) But please note that there are around 30 steps from the entrance on the street level to the departure of the lift. We very much look forward to seeing you! Andrea and Anna ... more   less
