We came to the hotel when we were not yet allowed to check in but we were allowed to leave our bags in the lobby room until check-in at 2pm. They were nice enough to check the reservations for the museums for us, even though they were technically not "open". Our room was a double with a single too with...

I stayed at hotel Cristina with my fiance in the midst of our whirlwind adventure in Italy - the hotel was inviting and clean, the staff was helpful and courteous, and the location was prime. The room we had was spacious (we splurged for the private bath) - and the common room was a great place to play some games....

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Cristina for 2 nights in mid May. We knew we would be busy while in Florence, and we were simply looking for a place to lie our heads at the end of the day. Hotel Cristina certainly exceeded our expectations! It is clean, well run, and has a very friendly, caring staff. I...

I travelled by myself to Firenze for a short break, and was directed to this hotel around 7pm while I had nowhere to stay! The hotel staff Madi, such a lovely young lady really helped me out!! As May's the very busy season in Tuscany, the hotel's fulled booked, however, she managed to find me a bed to sleep for...

Superbly located just by the Bargello, this inexpensive, super-friendly hotel has long been our favorite. Room #4 is vast and has a little bit of fresco on the wall. This hotel is super convenient, clean and comfy. It is not de luxe --how could it be at the price?! but it is a delight and RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF...

We stayed in Hotel Cristina for one night in May and this hotel was exactly what we were looking for. It's clean, in a great location - you can walk to anywhere in Florence from here - it's a great cheap place to sleep. Our room had a shared bathroom/shower which was not a problem, we never even noticed anyone...

The location of the hotel was great- so close to everything. We also found the couple that work there to be extremely helpful and nice- which really added to our stay. We stayed in a room with a shared bathroom, which was ok. There's no where in the bathroom to hang your towel, which I found a bit weird. I...

4 friends and I traveled to Florence for a girls weekend recently and stayed here. It was absolutely perfect. We got a 5 bed room all to ourselves and even had our own bathroom. It was clean and very spacious. The staff helped us find a great restaurant to enjoy that evening. It was a few blocks from everything. A...

My girlfriend and I stayed one night here during September... we had taken a night train into Florence and arrived about 9 am. Our booking through Venere.com was in order, and our room was even ready for us. Not much English spoken by the lady at reception, but it's Italy, so Italian seems reasonable. The rooms were big, the queen...

I stayed for two nights at the Hotel Cristina this pas June. It was a great location and the owners & staff were exceptionally friendly. As a solo traveler I rely on locals for hidden treasures. The only thing was that there is no elevator and three flights of stairs but the owner came and assisted me with my suitcase...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
