Hotel is in a good location and the hotel is clean. However, the air conditioning barely works. We were lucky to have cool weather in the evening, so that we could open the windows. Most concerning was the rude staff person we encountered each morning in the dining area. We were not subject to her attitude, but each morning saw...

Great location, very comfortable, great value for the money! This hotel is located one block south of the Duomo, the cultural and geographical heart of Florence. Located on a side street, just off one of the main shopping streets, it provides great access to all of central Florence. We got a great online deal - $60 for a double. The...

While the location was great, the rooms didn't have a fridge and we were told we couldn't bring food to the room. Breakfast was OK. There is a little shop to the right of the hotel. Get your drinks & snacks there since it's much cheaper than anywhere else. Booked through Orbitz and was told that I needed to pay...

We have spend 3 days in Florance, in De Lanzi Hotel. OK, for sure it has great location, street next to Duomo and one can walk and see everything you should see easily. Everything is near to De Lanzi Hotel. Rooms are small, but clear. Neither nice neither ugly – let say just ok. Front desk: friendly staff, ready to...

I had won a contest with Conde Nast Traveler and they put us up here for four days. At first it was not what I expected, but the rooms were clean, the beds okay, the breakfast was above what other places serve there. We were right by the Duomo and that was a blessing. You could go down by the...

My husband and I recently celebrated our one year anniversary in Italy. We stayed at the Hotel De Lanzi in Florence and it was a great experience. The hotel was steps away from the Duomo so the location was ideal. Staff members were helpful with giving us directions and recommendations for restaurants. The rooms and accomodations were adequate.

We arranged to stay 8 nights at this hotel via email. They would respond politely and promptly to all my requests. We received a good low season rate and we were promised a partial view of the Duomo from our room. When we arrived we were told our rate would only be honored if we paid in cash. Since there...

Perfect location for a beautiful stay in Florence. The rooms were ok...no great views, a little on the ugly side, and the A/C wasn't that fabulous either...but for our budget it worked out great and was a LOT better than some of the accommodations we were stuck with on our honeymoon. The 2 ladies at the front desk were a...

My husband and I with our 2 daughters and their husbands have just spent a few days away in florence, italy because a cousin of mine was getting married there. Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
