Personal service. Accommodating staff. Convenient walking access to the old city. Just a tip: to get to the supermarket, as you leave Mario's turn right. At the next open road junction, turn right. Keep walking down that road (towards the train/bus station), cross a small sidestreet, and the supermarket is on your right after the (dreadful) Chinese restaurant. If you...

We stayed in Hotel Mario's for two nights, it was one of the best stay's we had in europe. Hotel Mario's is walkable distance from the FIRENZE S M N (Florence Rail Station). It is on the first floor of the building and the place do not have an elevator. We were carrying some heavy luggage, which the hotel staff...

We first stayed at Mario's in 1984 (!) and again in the '90s, but not since new owners took over a few years ago.. We were pleased and pleasantly surprised that we enjoyed our stay even more so this time (Oct.2011). Leonardo and Federico, two of the family/owners, were most helpful with directions, advice and background on the city. The...

We stayed 4 nights in September. Very close to the train station and easy to walk to all the main attractions. The room was very clean , the breakfast could be better for the price. All the staff members are very friendly. Many thanks to Leonardo for all his great advice and information. Please make sure you have dinner at...

It's nice inside but there are better options with better price and location. Personnel was great and it saved the general impression. Breakfast is very basic, coffee terrible, I thought it should be better for such price.

I just wanted to write that I have been to Florence many times and have stayed at many hotels. This year was my first visit to Hotel Mario's upon a recommendation from a friend. I will say that the room was lovely with great space for clothes and my bathroom was a great size and very clean. I faced the...

We did this little hotel our last night in Italy since it was super close to train station (hubby carried our bags the 5 min walk). I thought the lounge and bar were the heart of the place. So cozy and inviting, a chance to talk to other guests and have a drink before dinner. A nice alternative to sitting...

This hotel ruined Florence for us. We made a last minute decision to stay at Mario's due to limited availability at other hotels. The trip advisor reviews were positive so we felt confident booking it. Upon arrival we realized it was a mistake. It was the dirty end of Via Faenze where tourists shouldn't be. Inside the lobby was better...

From the moment upon arriving to Hotel Mario's to the moment I checked out I was treated in true Italian style. The hotel is on the 2nd floor of a building and stair access is simple. The lobby of the hotel reminded me of a the living room in a friend's home, with coffee table books from travel to design...

My elderly aunt and uncle, he who has just been recovering from a recent hip replacement. They loved their stay, but what impressed me most was the care the staff offered to them. I note the Frommers voted Mario's the friendliest hotel in Florence, I concur
