This campsite is in a wonderful location and not even a 5 minute walk from the Piazzale Michelangelo, with an incredible view over the city! The campsite is very basic, but the beds in the static tents were quite comfortable. Washing facilities were fine and the bar/restaurant offered good food (breakfast, lunch and dinner were available). All in all, it...

During a trip travelling from north to the south of Italy we stayed at Camping Michelangelo for 3 nights, it was great! We stayed in one of the permanent tents which was hassle free and comfortable, there were two of us so we shared with another man, who was very easy to get on with. The showers were perfectly usable,...

This campsite was absolutely gorgeous. We rented a tent here in late July, and we were impressed with how spacious it was. The bathroom facilities could be improved, however the views are absolutely stunning and can be enjoyed from the pizzeria that is on site. There is also a bus into town directly outside the campsite. Would definitely recommend visiting...

The location of the campsite is brilliant however staff are very rude and unhelpful. We had an hour wait on our food with no apology. Considering the restaurant is part of the camp site we were almost looked down on for wearing flip flops and shorts. We had to go up to order as the staff didn't seem to acknowledge...

Fantastic location of 30 seconds walk away from Piazza Michaelangelo which provides amazing views of the city. Also easy to catch a bus into town from up there (once you know how to do it!) or you could brave the steep walk (we didn't: it was 35 degrees). The facilities are ok, nothing special although the women's showers all seemed...

This lives up to expectations, tents are OK, only a few bugs, to be expected when camping. No plugs was a drawback and showers and toilets were not especially clean. Definitely a place for backpackers, and would not stay here for more than a couple nights

The site is nice, toilets and showers are ok, but it's better for young back packers than families. The nearby disco is very noisy- until 03:00. And the staff told us that only bus 12 was good for return from the city centre, when actually 13 stopped right outside. And the ground is hard, bring sturdy narrow plugs. And there...

Camping Michelangelo lays in the heart of Florence. It is a really good location. City centre is very close, view is great. But... shame on the bathrooms and toilets. Would need an upgrade. When you take a shower water is coming back, actually you are swimming in your and others used water. This was our one night stop during our...

The club wasn't that loud at all, particularly if you use ear plugs (which you should). The tents are SUPER nice (like seriously wow). The bathrooms were as clean as I would expect a hostels to be and were a lot cleaner than most camp sites in America. Bug spray is definitely a must though (but that's just Italy). Luggage...

This campsite is not the worst one i've ever stayed at. The location is both amazing and poor. Pros - ~ 15 mins from florence and normal sight seeing ~ amazing view of the city!! Truly great to sit at the resto/common area to have a drink or pizza. ~ friendly staff at the reception who are very happy to...

Staying in Piazzale Michelangelo

Neighbourhood Profile
Piazzale Michelangelo
Just outside the ancient walls of Florence, Viale Michelangiolo starts. It is a winding road rimmed by wonderful poplars and holm oaks. The long ascent opens up to the most beautiful and famous panoramic viewpoint of Florence: Piazzale Michelangelo, where an elevated terrace offers visitors an incomparable and breathtaking view of the entire city from above. During good weather, Piazzale Michelangelo provides visitors with a serene space surrounded by the amazing landscape, better if accompanied by a fresh gelato from a local kiosk. During night, visitors will be dazzled by the warm lights of the capital of the Renaissance. Spend a second with the silent Romanesque beauty of the Basilica of San Miniato al Monte: the one that wishes good morning and good night to Florence!
