I'll keep it short because the other reviews have it right. This is an excellent hotel with an extremely friendly and helpful staff and in an excellent location. For us it was the perfect hotel for our stay in Florence.

We are a British couple in our mid thirties who like to travel independently, getting good value as much as possible! We have just had a brilliant stay of 4 nights at Hotel Perseo and thought it was good value for money. We found it to be very central, clean and extremely friendly. I had actually booked Alloro B&b but... More

We stayed here with a family of 5 (with older children). Very high standard of room, with a good three bed room. Free Internet worked well. Very friendly and welcoming. Good advice on where to eat. Hotel is up a few floors, with a lift. We drove, and the car was collected and delivered efficiently.

The Hotel Perseo is a great find in Florence. It's very conveniently located for sightseeing and getting to the train station. The hotel is clean and tidy and the rooms are spacious. I have stayed at this hotel twice now and both times all the staff members have been extremely friendly and helpful. Chiara and Tani, in particular, were so... More

Our stay at the Hotel Perseo was above expectations. We were looking for a moderately priced hotel with a convenient location, and we were expecting 3-star quality and service. Hotel Perseo gave us much more than we could have imagined - a clean, comfortable, spacious room (guestroom #4), a clean, bright bathroom with an excellent shower, and even a little... More

Giacinto, the owner, manager, was extremely helpful during our entire stay. He helped us make last minute adjustments in how many were staying in the room. He gave us clear directions to get to the hotel. He made us feel welcome and comfortable during our stay. He directed us to places to see in Florence, and answered any questions we... More

We enjoyed staying at the Hotel Perseo in Florence and particularly loved the view of the Duomo and Campanile from our family room on the fifth floor. The hotel is located close to the Duomo and our favourite gelati store in Florence (Grom) and is just a 10 minute walk to the train station. The hotel is on the third... More

Our party of seven family and friends stayed at Hotel Perseo for five nights in October, 2008. We loved the location: we walked to the hotel from the train station, and could walk to the Duomo, the Accademia, and the Uffizi Gallery in short order. The included breakfasts -- cappuccino or similar, plus muesli, croissants, cheese, etc. -- suited us,... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
