We stayed at Il Perseo for three nights last August and it was really good. The hotel is pretty basic (a 3rd floor) but immaculately clean and the rooms are very nice and well kept. Considering we were at the very heart of Florence (a 20 seconds walk to the Duomo, literally) I could say the price was really reasonable...

My wife and I stayed at Il Perseo for four nights in September 2008. We had a great time. The hotel is not posh but it is excellent. It is very clean. It cannot be located better than it is for the needs of a tourist in Florence. It's a bit unusual in that you reach the reception area by...

I have stayed at this hotel three times this year on business and found the location, staff helpfulness and cleanliness to be excellent. Each time I have had an inside room, therefore no traffic noise - the hotel is located on a busy street. Pros: Very clean and fair sized room The Owners are unbelievable in every way possible Quiet...

My 2 friends and I chose this hotel based from its positive reviews and these reviews were not wrong. The hotel was centrally located, just a stone's throw away from Duomo. It is also a walking distance away from the train station. The owners were very personable. They were always present and available to lend a hand. We have received...

On our first trip to Florence and to Europe as a whole, this hotel was an excellent "base" while were in the city. The rooms were huge, very clean, and kept nice and cool. It was less than a block to the Duomo and very near some great street markets and restaurants. We didn't need to go far to find...

Ideal location to train station and Duomo. Room totally refurbished in January 2008. Clean, quiet, good value. Friendly receptionists speak English and go second mile to assist tourists. After a one week stay, we felt like family. Easy walk from hotel to all major tourist attractions.

I stayed at this Hotel for four nights during a trip to Italy. I stayed from the 24/8/08 to 28/8/08. It was the best of the three star hotels I stayed in during our Holiday. Room was spacious, comfortable and quite. It had a very good shower room and it was cleaned daily. Breakfast was also adequate and good but...

The hotel is near the Duomo in the centre of Florence. All the sights are in walking distance and most are within 15 minutes walk including all the major galleries and museums. The hotel is also close to the railway station (about 5 minutes walk) which was useful as we arrived by train. The hotel is clean and modern. The...

We stayed Il Perseo (which is also awesome) and we were looking for really quality place to eat in walking distance as I was traveling with my wife, mother and my mom-in-law, so needed to impress. We were given the recommendation to head here. It is great! The food is fantastic and the service is top notch. The owner tends...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
