Have stayed here a number of times and have always had a wonderful stay.. The two girls a great, very friendly and welcoming. The rooms are clean, tidy and a good size. Location means you are just minutes from every amenity that you could need, as well as the sights. Highly recommend the stay here.. probably the most reasonably priced...

This little hotel is 5 minutes from The Academia and The Duomo. My room was simple but comfortable with air conditioning a and on suite shower. Michaela was very helpful and attentive and recommended a lovely restaurant on the same street. The hotel is on thw first floor and the steps up to it may be too much for some...

Friendly personnel and great hospitality make you feel at home. Even though the personnel is not always at the lobby, you will always be informed about how you can reach them in case you need help. To say it all, it's worth the money!

This small hotel has a very familiar, cosy atmosphere. The best thing about it was the service- the receptionist was very pleasant and helpful. My room was lovely and I didn't have any problems with noise. Only downsides are that the hotel is located on an antique building, so no elevator, and the bathroom was very small. Other than that...

It was generally a nice stay for 2 nights at Hotel Sampaoli. It is located at 2/Fold building, no lift. I think the hotel owned the whole floor and then rent the rooms as hotel. Advantages are: - friendly staff - tidy and clean - antique home decoration - close city center Disadvantages are: - facilities are not enough, there...

The best part was the staff -- very friendly and accommodating. Good location and clean rooms. The only negative was the two flights of steps but Rosalia helped me with my bag. No breakfast at the hotel but there are good, cheap eats nearby.

Big room and bathroom by Italian standards. Welcome air con! Terrible wifi. Really dirty and sticky floor. Only given one sachet of shampoo for three night stay, no soap, also only one towel. Excellent Greek eatery next door, Italian a few doors down and bagels a tad further all on the same side. All locals dining in all three. Quiet...

Very good hotel, nicely decorated and very clean. The attention was also very good. It is perfectly located. The only thing to take into account if you travel with big bags or have some walking disability is the stairs you need to take to get to the hotel. It is 3 floors with no elevator. But the rest is very...

We've stayes at Hotel Sampaoli for 4 nights. The hotel is located in the center of Florence and you can discover Florence easily by foot. The Hotel is in an old and charming building and the light is fantastic. The staff at the hotel is charming and friendly. We felt very much at home. The prices are very fair.

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The pleasant atmosphere of this residential area, a stone’s throw away from the Duomo of Florence, surprises everyone. A continuous flow of backpacking students provides the tranquil surroundings for the elderly residents who sit in Piazza San Marco to read the daily newspaper. Home to several universities, including the Academy of Fine Arts, San Marco is one of the most vibrant cultural centers in the city. A bridge connecting the modern cultural activity of Florence to its classic art, represented by the everlasting magnificence of the original David, resonates as a symbol of Florence and of Italy as a whole. Get lost in a Neoclassic world, a journey back in time through historic buildings like Spedale degli Innocenti (Hospital of the Innocents), San Marco church, Basilica della Santissima Annunziata, and natural jewels like the Botanical Gardens.
