it is rather sketchy going up the elevator in this old building, but once inside it is new, clean and very comfortable. I was worried that it would be noisy since it is right on the square, but once the windows are shut it is quiet. It is delightful to look out and watch all the happenings and people. The...

My husband and I just returned from 3 lovely weeks in Italy and France and this property was certainly one of the highlights. We are "seasoned" travelers and while we generally like high-end properties and all-hour services, we opt for B&B's and unique experiences for this type of travel and Soggiorno Battistero is one of those places. Our room, with...

We were searching for the place that would be located in the heart of Florence, but did not expect to see what we saw from our room in Soggiorno Battistero!!! Amazing view on Duomo, amazing staff, ready to help at any time. Really enjoyed our stay there. Will make sure to be back.

It is my first time to get a B&B and this place sets the bar and will be hard to beat. It is located facing the Piazza San Giovanni with the Baptistry of St John Battistero di San Giovanni as the back draft. It is beyond amazing. It is ten minutes walking distance from Firenze Sta Maria Novella Station and...

Great location right on the main square in Florence. Great rates, including breakfast. The Baptistery was literally about 25 yds from my window! The location can make for alot of noise if you are trying to sleep. However, the windows and shutters block about 95% of the noise most of the time...I had a very noisy night on St Patricks...

Great location! We had a Triple Room with a View overlooking the Baptistery and the Duomo. The Room was very spacious and clean. Beds were very comfortable. Nice size bathroom. Good continental breakfast including bacon and scrambled eggs, toast, good selection of cereals, fresh fruit, pastries, fruit juices, tea and coffee. Staff are all very friendly and extremely helpful. Soggiorno...

What an amazing place. Clean, modern, not what I expected from a B&B in Florence. The views are incredible of the Baptistary, Duomo, and Bell Tower. Francisco was our host and made reservations for us at his favorite places to eat? I have never written a review on Trip Advisor, but I feel compelled to do so here. This was...

There was no-one there to check us in when we arrived in the evening. We had to check in at another hotel, and we did not receive a refund from Soggiorno Battistero. Stay away. Poor service and moral.

Wonderful location. Can be noisy but I used a white noise app at night so it was fine. Looks out on the Battistera, overlooking the square. Clean, great beds, good pillows. Bathroom small but works. Breakfast was full and good. Eggs, roles, meats, cheeses. Entry (big door on front, elevator to third floor) was a bit worrisome at first but...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
