Simple, clean, friendly staff. Room quite small, but for a city trip alright. Some noise from pub down the street. Good possibilities for a breakfast close by. All by all cheap and well located in the centre and close to the train station

The hotel is in an excellent location - close to the station and near to the main tourist sites. The bedding and bathroom were cleaned daily, and the room is a good size. The hotel itself is on the third floor of the building, and there is a small lift which can get very cramped if you have luggage or...

We stayed here two nights. The room was fairly small in size but we had the use of our own bathroom which was great. There is a elevator in the building for about two people but it does help with luggage. It's fairly central and the wifi was great in the rooms. We were only given one towel but it...

good bed, clean room, friendly staff, good location. We really love hotel, we feel relax and sleep good. There is a bar under hotel but they decrease voice of music after 01.00 AM so we can sleep well.

We had a great time. The room was beautiful and clean, so was the bathroom. When I booked it I was hesitant because of the low price but the hotel was much better than expected. Couldn't have picked a better location; close enough to the center but not too close as to not have noise from the street. Everyone was...

Very good, friendly staff. Great location - only 6 mins walk from the station in one direction and the Piazza del Duomo in the other. They even offered a breakfast of coffee, croissant, toast, jam and biscuits for 2 Euros and brought it to our room. The room was spotlessly clean as was the bathroom and they gave toiletries which...

Great location: near the central station. From the hotel you can arrive in a few minutes to the Piazza del Duomo. The staff were friendly and spoke very good English. The service was also great. We had a room for two persons; the room was clean, had air condition and a comfortable bed. I would definitely come back

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
