My husband, mother-in-law and I stayed for three wonderful days at this charming pensione. Our room was very comfortable and quite large, and the bathroom was well-appointed and spotless. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and the location was ideal. I can't wait to get back!

I spent 3 days in this hotel. It can be confusing to find due to Florence's street numbering system, but it is a great location, short walk to the Duomo and where the David is. The rooms are a good size, bed was big, too, firm mattress, lots of pillows and very comfy. The staff is friendly and had wonderful...

Just steps away from the Duomo, a perfect central location in one of the great walking cities of Europe. The rooms have character (not a box with a bed & a desk) and are quite comfortable. We've stayed here twice and have never rented a car. We use trains and tour companies for our day trips. Marina is brilliant at organizing...

Residenza dei Pucci was by far the nicest hotel stay of our Italy trip. The rooms are very spacious with a sitting table and chairs, a tv, a large wardrobe and a large bathroom with an American sized shower/tub...this was much appreciated after being shoved into a 3 foot by 3 foot shower in both Rome and Monterosso al Mare!...

Florence was our second stop on an outstanding Italian honeymoon vacation. Residenza Dei Pucci was chosen because it was a low cost hotel in an excellent location. Neither the location nor the hotel disappointed. For what we paid, it was an outstanding value. Don't expect a lavish B&B experience here, this is a straight forward, simple offering. It's a perfect...

Lovely airy rooms, wonderfully helpful staff and very central to the key sights of Florence. Ask the staff to direct you to nearby Mario's trattoria (only open for lunch) for very special tuscan home cooked quisine - simple but fantastic flavours

Our family of 3 stayed here along with our extended family (a total of 17 people). We arrived late with instructions on how to get in as nobody was expected to be there to receive us. However, we were pleasantly surprised to find Marina awaiting our arrival. She helped us all get organized and into our rooms. The hotel is...

Nice little B&B close to all the major sites and close to a good selection of restaurants. Staff was very helpful in arranging walking tours of the city and gave us very good advice on what to see and what to avoid. Rooms were very large and tasteful. Small breakfast was adequate. Only three minor issues to bring up: 1)...

Based on this board and Rick Steves' we stayed here 5 nights and would stay again. The staff were friendly and excellent helping us with recommendations, maps, taxi, reservations for museums (required) and restaurants. It's a great location and the rooms were a good value for the location. We know almost no Italian and had no difficulty communicating with the...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
