Globus Urban Hotel is a modern Hotel in the middle of Florence Historical city center close to San Lorenzo Church and Cappelle Medicee. The Breakfast area overlooks a small courtyard with a nice vertical garden. Our Urban Crew is a mixture of all ages, languages, cultures and countries, always smiling and willing to offer you tips on places to visit, restaurants to try. They're always there for you. For what regards our location, it is definitely one of the key features of Globus. The proximity to all the Santa Maria Novella train station and all main attractions, including the Duomo, both major museums (Uffizi and Accademia Galleries) or Ponte Vecchio, among others, makes it very easy to plan even the busiest day without the need to lose time getting from the hotel to your desired location. What makes our neighbourhood special though is definitely the Mercato Centrale of San Lorenzo, located just around the corner from here. In the morning, that is where you want to go if you're planning

This hotel was perfect for in between our Rome and Venice legs of the vacation with two teenagers. It was modern, clean, had plenty of toiletries and the substantial breakfast with delicious made to order coffees and enough variety to please everyone in my family! The location was so close to the train station that our day trip out to Pisa was easy as well as getting around Florence to see all of their sights. Every staff member was so kind and I highly recommend this hotel to anyone!!

We had a lovely stay here. The room was spotless with bright white bedding and powerful easy to navigate AC.

The staff at the front desk were very friendly and always happy to call taxis or send up extra towels and other toiletries as required. There was a full range of toiletries always replenished including shower caps to hair conditioner (a rarity on the continent).

The room itself had a safe and a mini fridge but just be warned as per the room descriptions that the room sizes are small and the hotel bathroom was very tiny. It had everything you needed arranged efficiently but still very small.

The hotel breakfast was nice with friendly staff and a wide range of juices and non-dairy milks and sweet treats.

Let me start out by saying the only reason I didn't give a 5-star review is because the Wifi was weak and dropped out all the time, which was frustrating, and for some reason the volume on the TV was so low it was almost unusable, not that we spent much time watching TV. I stayed here in March of 2024 with my family of 4. We stayed in one of the apartments which is next door to the actual hotel entrance.
First, the good: The apartment was very large. It was a one bed, one bath unit with a separate living room and kitchen. I think it was a little over 600 square feet total. My kids slept on the pull-out couch in the living room. It was clean, the kitchen was stocked well enough with pots, pans, dished, utensils, coffee maker, microwave, fridge, and oven so you could cook some meals instead of eating out all the time.
The breakfast buffet was excellent. Very good selection and delicious. It was included in the price of my room so I didn't pay extra for it. Otherwise, there is a small supermarket just around the corner where you could get groceries to make your own or, on the same street as the supermarket, are countless restaurants and cafes.
The hotel is about three blocks from the train station which made it very convenient when lugging your luggage and your family through the streets of Florence. It is about a 5 min walk without luggage. I wouldn't have wanted to be any closer due to the traffic noise around the station so the location was great. It was less than a block from the central market where there are all sorts of street vendors outside selling cheap souvenirs, and inside, on the first floor are food vendors, the second floor is a food court. The food there was good and less expensive than a restaurant to feed a family of four. My kids just wanted some of the fresh baked bread from one of the vendors.
The staff at the hotel was excellent in every respect.
Now, the only bad: As mentioned, the Wifi in the apartment was a little spotty. It might be different if you are in one of the single rooms in the main hotel. If this doesn't concern you then consider this a 5-star review.
Lastly, an observation. The main hotel has an elevator, but the apartment does not. It is difficult to discern the difference in the hotel description. We knew this before we booked but I wanted to put it in as a warning to anyone who might have problem with stairs. And the stairs are VERY narrow. It wasn't a concern for bringing luggage up and down because the staff will do that for you.
In summary, there were a few quirks but overall this was the best place we stayed on our trip to Italy and I would definitely look to stay there again if I go back.

My family and I stayed for three nights at Hotel Globus in August. The hotel was easy to locate on our walk from our car park. The welcome was great.

All staff here were so kind, friendly and helpful. They really do make a difference.

The hotel is small, with a small lift, but perfect for a visit to Firenze. We had a family room with a double bed and two single beds. The rooms again are small but perfectly formed with quite a large bathroom. There is a small fridge/mini bar where we put our own bottles of water to cool overnight. The bathroom toiletries were really good with shampoo/shower gel, hand soap, shower caps, cotton wool, sewing kit, shoe shine and a hairdryer in the bathroom too. The only very slight downside was that there were no drawers for storing clothes and only five coat hangers on the rail, for a family of four, we needed a little storage to put our clothes away. We did have a lovely view of the Basilica di San Lorenzo from the bedroom window!

We came during a very hot spell, 36-38 degrees centigrade each day, so the room air conditioning was very welcome. It was a little noisy but very cold.

Breakfast was good. A small, but perfect buffet selection. Plenty of breakfast cereal, pastries, bread, cheese, cold meats, biscuits, fruit, bacon, eggs, pancakes, yoghurts, fresh juices and coffee. It really was great and included in the price of the room. The staff at breakfast were also so so kind and friendly.

Thank you to all of the lovely staff at Team Globus. And thank you Firenze, we cannot wait to return one day. I highly recommend this hotel.

Gabriella, welcomed us with authentic, happy hospitality. She was very helpful with understanding the area, where to eat, etc. We really appreciated that she had breakfast take away bags prepared for us for an early flight. She was a highlight.

The location is very close to the train station, an easy walk pulling a carryon suitcase. Also, the location is very near the amazing food market, not far from the Duomo or the river.

The breakfast room is bright and pretty and the food selection is wide.

The room was pretty basic, but did offer all the amenities we needed.
Unfortunately the first night the AC rattled like a truck all night. We learned the next day that if we ran it on low that didn't happen. Wish we'd known sooner. Also, with construction in the immediate area, we were awakened the firs morning by workers who started before 7am. Not the hotels fault, but not pleasant either.

We would likely stay again, but would also look into other options.

What a fantastic stay at Globus Urban Hotel! From the great location, to the friendly welcome we had from Nicola and all the other staff, to the beautiful and clean room and everything in between. This hotel makes you feel right at home and the staff go above and beyond when it comes to service, with a smile! They really take care of you and think of everything.
On arrival you get told about a complimentary welcome drink in the evening which includes yummy snacks, then when you get back to your hotel room for the night after a wonderful day in Florence, you get a lovely hand written note thanking you for staying there with some biscotti treats and then there is the breakfast buffet in the morning which is out of this world! We have spent time in 13 cities on this trip and this hotel had the best service and overall experience by far!! Thank you :)

This rating is for the hotel room itself and no reflection on the staff as they were lovely and helpful when needed.

The location of the hotel was pretty close to train station, Duomo and leather market, and a relatively short walk from most of the main attractions and MANY great restaurants.

This was the midpoint of 2-week trip so we utilized a nearby laundry mat to do a load on our first day there. This was MUCH more affordable than laundering through hotel service.

The room and bathroom were smaller than expected, making it hard for even just 2 people to walk around at the same time. The bathroom was so tight and my husband and I are average size.

We didn’t spend too much time in the hotel so it wasn’t a huge deal, but I would look for a bigger place next time. This was the only one of the five hotels we stayed at in Italy on this trip that we wouldn’t stay at again.

Hotel Globus Urban in Florence is rather small, and the regular rooms are tiny., so spreading out is not a possibility. However, its central location allows a fairly short walk to all the attractions, as well as the train station. There are plenty of shops, restaurant and cafes around it, and it is a 2 - minute (slow) walk to The Market - a huge, indoor food court. What make it really special is the lovely, friendly, resourceful and very helpful stuff, for whom no request is too much and no is not an answer. They make the stay there very plesant.

Wonderful experience beginning with Gabriella at the front deck, who welcomed us with genuine enthusiasm and took great care in marking our city map with a green hi-lighter to provide a suggested route to his the most popular sites. We followed her suggestions and had a wonderful time. The hotel is perfectly located: literally 9 minutes leisurely walk from the train station, and about the same to the Duomo. Loads of restaurants within minutes, and a terrific Mercator just a block away with a diversity of food offerings that it would be insulting to label as a “food court.” Good stuff! Speaking of food, breakfast was lovely with hot dishes as well as fresh fruit, several types of yogurt, and pastries. It was a convenient and filling way to start the morning. Dina at the front desk was nice enough to print out our revised train tickets, and the manager (whose name I failed to get) saved me from a surefire migraine by going above and beyond to reassure us that our train would not be affected by the strike that brought delays and cancellations to many. Gracie Mille for that! We would absolutely return to this hotel should we find ourselves in Florence again. It is immaculate, VERY quiet, within walking distance from virtually everything you would want to see, and staffed by delightful, service-oriented people.

I just left here after a 6 night stay. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! I am a solo female traveler and booked a single room. It was just the right size, had everything I needed and felt safe.

The staff here is INCREDIBLE! The mostly Filipina staff, especially Dina at the front desk and Karen & Carla(?l at breakfast were so very warm and helpful. I cannot say enough about how sweet & professional they are.

The little touches like the cantucci cookies & farewell note left on my door at checkout were top notch.

I would stay here again & recommend to my friends.

On top of it all, it is less than $2 USD to take the tram from the airport to the Unita stop on F2. It's one end of the line to the other. Once you get off at Unita, just walk strait down San Antonini to the hotel about 3 minutes away! Bravo!

The only room I saw was mine which was a king bed suite. The layout design was smart and provided ample space. I recommend that you call the property for a description. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I called and spoke with them before we booked our room. A couple of general points I’d like to share: my wife and I traveled by high speed train to Florence from Venice. We had 2 medium size pieces of luggage and 1 small carry-on. We walked to the hotel from the train station (less than 5 minutes). The hotel location is so centralized, we walked everywhere including the leather district, the Academia Gallery (statue of David) and the Uffizi art museum. We had a FANTASTIC breakfast at the hotel every day. There is an amazing food court on the second floor of the fresh market just a few minutes away from the hotel. Our favorite dinner was at Restorante Brandolino. You need a reservation. Make it a week or two in advance. I’m sure he front desk at the hotel will do it for you. ENJOY!!!

Dear Julie, from Pisa Airport You could take the train "People Mover" and get off in Pisa Central Station. From Pisa Central Station You just need to take local train and get off in Firenze Santa Maria Novella. From Pisa Airport to Firenze Santa Maria Novella it takes in total 1 hour and half. From the Santa Maria Novella train station, take the exit on the left (by the pharmacy) and make a right; continue straight for approximately 200 meters (656 feet) until you reach Piazza dell’Unità. From there, follow Via Sant’Antonino: Hotel Globus is located at street number 24 Black. Giovanni - Guest Relations Manager
