We booked this hotel based on reviews and location to the train station which was the way we arrived It is a very short block from the station and we found it easily dragging our luggage ( again and as always too much ) behind us From the hotel you can walk anywhere in the city and not become too... This is a nice hotel. The beds are firm but comfortable. Our room was a good size (though the bathroom was compact) and quiet. There is a large safe, and wifi was excellent. Breakfast provided a good buffet choice. The ceilings have a lovely ornate design (very Italian :-)). The location is excellent - very close to shopping and a... More

This hotel is very close to train station and easy to find. We stayed 3 nights and felt very comfortable. The rooms are reasonable size, very clean and on a quiet street. The breakfast was a pleasant surprise with a wide selection of breakfast food, 4 juices, breads, eggs ,meats, cheese all served in a delightful setting. There is a... More

We stayed at the Adler Cavaliers as part of a tour group and would definitely come back to it on our own travel plans. The rooms were spacious, clean and well maintained. Breakfast was delicious continental plus eggs and bacon. Staff was friendly and attentive. The hotel is around the corner from the Santa Maria Novella Train station, convenient for... More

I was very pleased with this hotel. It is close to the train station, which was a key factor for me, yet has none of the traffic or noise that you might associate with that location. (Florence is small enough that I didn't feel far from any site.) My single room was spacious, with great A/C and a nice view... More

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Adler Cavalieri for 4 nights as part of our first trip to Italy. We took the train from Venice to Florence, and were very happy that we booked a hotel so close to the train station. We rolled our luggage over to the hotel, and were instantly greeted by the staff. We stayed here for 3 nights in total and loved the hotel. Gorgeous wooden interior throughout and staff very helpful. Breakfast in the courtyard was fantastic (only very minor complaint was bacon was incredibly fatty!) but we would thoroughly recommend this little gem. Fab central location too. Would also recommend a peep into the beautiful stationary shop opposite hotel entrance.

Close to the train station for all those early morning tours and connections. Helpful staff, they are genuine caring people. It felt like we were staying with relatives, it has a small bed and breakfast feel. Will return.

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
