I tend to stay a little off the beaten path but walking distance to the city center. These accommodations are in an old monastery in a local neighborhood with great restaurants. The room we had for 3 was spacious and the breakfast in the morning offered good variety to start the day. We arrived in Florence by train and this...

This hotel is great if you're looking to stay in an area of Florence with more locals than tourists. There are lots of great local places to eat nearby (without the ridiculously high prices) and the hotel is only a short walk over the river to the main tourist attractions. The rooms are very basic but all you need is...

A poor start with a rude receptionist. The introduction to the rooms was poor they look like cells with no TV and what appears to be a bedsheet for a towel. Our bathroom was in our room but because of the position of the window there was an opening that connected us with next door and the noises that accompany...

We enjoyed our stay here and learning the history of the building, the convent, and surrounding area. The house is located in a quiet neighborhood, but is close to several restaurants and amenities. There is a beautiful, quiet courtyard garden. Our room was large and had beautiful, antique furnishings. The painted ceilings, marble floors, and detailed woodwork provided a beautiful,...

I travel a lot throughout Europe and live in Italy. This is the first negative review I have ever made. The lady at the front desk was extremely rude throughout our stay but especially at check out. When she ran our credit cards, one did not go through and she insisted it was a bad credit card, I asked her...

First, this is a lovely old building, formerly a convent, nice breakfast room and garden, but there are some unpleasant surprises. Our reservation was for 3 nights. When checking in we asked for one additional night. Mistake! Upon entering the room, no toilet or shower. Going back downstairs we were told that Monastery Stays doesn't get it right and it...

This is a remarkable place to stay in Florence, on the quieter side of the Arno. This old monastery faces a relatively quiet square, but is right next door to a magnificent and important church. You are also a short walk from the Santo Spirito square which has many cafes and a thriving nightlife with street performers and lots of...

The perfect place to stay when exploring Florence. Great staff on reception with useful local insights - outstandingly helpful! Perfect location for individuals or groups. Try to get a room facing the garden as there can be a bit of noise from overly exuberant Italians in the street outside!

Even though there was a concert in the square in front of the hotel during two nights we were there, our stay here last fall was otherwise excellent. They were very helpful at the desk and the history of the building (a 15th century building) added to the experience. Free in room wifi and a big bathroom were added bonuses....

We found this accommodation comfortable and certainly more economical than many other Florence options. While the rooms are plain and simple, the old building and the story of the religious order are interesting. We booked a triple room to have extra space for the two of us, but the doubles we looked into also seemed a decent size. We asked...
