A traveling companion and I stayed at the Benivieni for two nights in September. The location is in the center of the action, yet its unassuming side-street location means it is completely quiet and peaceful. The rooms are small, but they sparkle, and the facility has been beautifully updated, including state-of-the-art bathrooms. The hotel owners love Americans and could not...

We stayed here for 4 nights in mid-September. The staff was very friendly. The location was great and central to the main sites. The room was a bit smallish, but clean. The bathroom was very clean. The shower stall leaked and was small, but manageable. The bed was okay, but the pillows were flat and hard. The windows did not...

Hotel was located 1/2 block from the Duomo. All Florence sites were so easy to walk to. The owners are so very friendly. It is just like staying with "family".

This is a very modern hotel with all the charm of the original 15th century palace that has been renovated. The location is excellent with the fine restaurants and all of Firenze's star attractions a short walk away. Walking past the Duomo everyday on our way to and from the hotel is breathtaking. The staff is excellent and the hotel...

Half a block from the Duomo, the location of the Benivieni is almost magical. The rooms were very clean, modern and quiet. The owners were very friendly and helpful. We were extremely comfortable there and would return to this charming hotel.

Hidden gem of a moderately priced hotel with an outstanding location. Steps away from the Doumo (Ponte Vecchio side) but on a quiet side street. Easy walking to all major sites. Basic rooms with nondescript interior but have modern baths with good water pressure. Internet service available for modest fee. Very pleasant management at this family owned hotel. Highly recommended.

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
