We had a nice room with a private bathroom for our 3-day stay in Florence. What takes the hotel from "nice" to "awesome" are a few things: 1) The outdoor terrace - a wonderful place to start and end the day with coffee or wine,...More
We found Hotel Il Bargellino in Rick Steves' Italy book and it was exactly as he described. We'd forgotten about his mention of the deck/patio until we arrived and Pino showed it to us. We enjoyed it very much - had breakfast there every morning...More

Thank you, thank you, thank you!! We love hearing that guests enjoy Il Bargellino.
The hotel is very clean. The owners are very friendly and helpfull. The location is close to the Santa Maria Novel train station and about 6 blocks from the Duomo. The patio provided an unexpected additional plus for a place to have a glass of...More
We stayed for four nights and enjoyed this hotel very much. Pino and Carmel were extremely helpful with suggestions to see things we might have missed. The rooms opening out onto the terrace were really special. Highly recommended for the price.
If you want a place that is totally affordable, a short walk from the main train station, centrally located, simple, clean and quiet - this is the place! Carmel & Pino, the owners of Hotel il Bargellino are completely welcoming, down to earth, and very...More
San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on
Florentine dishes as well as international selections. Nobody leaves San Lorenzo without a shopping bag in hand or with an empty stomach.

We have one flight of 20 steps with no elevator. Please let me know (by e-mail to the hotel if possible), your dates and I will check availability of a room on the ground floor.
Thank you, Carmel Coppola
