In a great spot not too far from all the sights and has a bus stop just over the road for lots of local bus services and only a short walk to pick up the City sightseeing tour bus. Breakfast was easy with a nice selection which should appeal to most people's requirements. Staff were friendly and very helpful with...

We liked this hotel - walking distance to David, Mercato Centrale, the Uffuzi, and the train station (a bit complicated upon arrival - taxi was about €17, but no problem walking back to the train station for our return). Nice breakfast. Would definitely stay there again.

This hotel was only a few minutes walk to all the main attractions in Florence. The hotel is modern and well maintained. Pleasant rooms that ever quite and roomy enough. Breakfast was adequate but nothing to write home about. Wifi was free and fast. I would stay here again.

We stayed here for five nights whilst visiting Florence. The hotel was easy to find using google app & was a 20minute walk from the station. The hotels location was excellent only a 5-10 minute walk to city centre & attractions. The room was quite large & to a good standard but as other reviewers have stated the bed &...

Great hotel ! Located near city center (10-15 minutes walk from all major attractions) Staff is very friendly and English speaking. Nice rooms. Best part of the hotel is PIetro!! The room was great, a nice bed with a good shower etc and clean. The hotel is a short walk to the centre of town and the key attractions. The breakfast was good. The key problem: it was so so hot!! The thermostat in the room didn't do anything and when we asked the staff at the front desk what...

Dear Madame, Thank you for your comment. We have only one system operating at the same time, heating or air conditioning. In this time of the year, with warm temperatures during the day and chilly nights (50°-80° F) we choose to give comfort through the night allowing the guest to turn on the heating. My apologize for any inconvenience that...

The best part about this hotel is the parking space available, the small distance to the non-driving restricted part of the city and the breakfast (which was quite alright, with relatively vast range of options). The room was small, the bathroom was small. They didn't give us complementary water in the room. The lobby was rather spacious and interesting but...

The location of the hotel is near-perfect. 10 minutes walk from the Duomo and some amazing restaurants and the staff are brilliant. However, the hotel left me underwhelmed. The bed (like others have mentioned) were incredibly uncomfortable, the shower was tiny, the breakfast was unremarkable and the lack of care by cleaning staff was a shame. The bed was really...

Dear Madame, Thank you for your comment. I am afraid that you have found the bed uncomfortable. I know that some people prefer a soft sleeping but we have guests that complaint for the exact opposite. The shower is a standard size one. If you prefer to have more space just ask the reception a room with a bath tub...

This Hotel is in very good location. On foot you can reach the old town and the dome within just few minutes from the Hotel. Prices are very reasonable and rooms are large enough. Unfortunately, the beds are very uncomfortable.

Found this comfortable hotel up the street from Piazza San Marco and L'Accademie from a B&B book I read. A good 20 minute walk from Santa Maria Novella Station, but then simple to get to the historic sites. Comfortable room, with a bath tub! Substantial breakfast with enough freshness and variety. Service good.

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The pleasant atmosphere of this residential area, a stone’s throw away from the Duomo of Florence, surprises everyone. A continuous flow of backpacking students provides the tranquil surroundings for the elderly residents who sit in Piazza San Marco to read the daily newspaper. Home to several universities, including the Academy of Fine Arts, San Marco is one of the most vibrant cultural centers in the city. A bridge connecting the modern cultural activity of Florence to its classic art, represented by the everlasting magnificence of the original David, resonates as a symbol of Florence and of Italy as a whole. Get lost in a Neoclassic world, a journey back in time through historic buildings like Spedale degli Innocenti (Hospital of the Innocents), San Marco church, Basilica della Santissima Annunziata, and natural jewels like the Botanical Gardens.
