On July 1st I had my wedding at Villa la Vedetta, and also rented out the whole hotel for 5 days for all of my guests. From the planning that took place from about a year ago, to the day of the wedding and all of the events after, everything was absolutely perfect. Beyond the incredible views and perfect location,...

We had a wedding in this fantastic place. Started from ceremony, dinner, party and spent first night in this hotel. Feelings were incredible when you have so romantic event on terraces with such a gorgeous view on Florence, with candles everywhere, music and green serround. All service that we had during all time was on high level.Decoration, organization the place,...

I was planning to marry on the terrace as the views of Florence are stunning. Our whole trip was a diaster. The wedding planner did not bother to meet us, our rooms were damp and musky, and the food was over priced. Staff were unfriendly and miserable. I would never recommend this place. Such a shame as it could be...

We stayed at this hotel for one night for a brief stop off in florence. Upon check in, the reception staff took a liking to our baby and gave us a free upgrade to a junior suite. The suite was huge, divided into two areas with a bathroom and had everything you could wish for, there was also a large...

The location of this hotel could not have been better. If like us, you prefer to stay away from the touristy centre of a city, you’ll love the Villa. The views are the best in Florence, simply spectacular. The Duomo is front and centre. On New Years Even we watched the fireworks erupting across the city from the terrace feeling...

We were so fortunate in finding this quite outstanding villa hotel with what must be one of the most superb views over Florence and its sourounding countryside. The staff took great care of us and the courtesy mini bus to and from the centre of the city is a great asset. We were upgraded to a suite with views over...

This hotel can boast an amazing location, overlooking Florence. The outside terrace is just where you want to enjoy a glass of wine after a day in the city. You will not get a better view. This is one of my favourite memories of the italian trip. The hotel is immaculate, beautiful living room in the foyer area, with internet...

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The view from the terrace is romantic and enchanting. Spectacular day and night. The hotels van took us right into town and we were in walking distance to all of the sights of Florence. The buffet breakfast provided a variety of choices for us and tea was available in the afternoon. The...

My husband and I booked this hotel for our honeymoon so the expectations were high. We had read about what seemed like hundreds of hotels on Tripadvisor and finally settled on this one as it seemed a great choice. We were wrong. Although it was a litany of disappointments, I will just list the highlights and you can make your...

Villa La Vedetta certainly lives up to your expectations on the part of its view. This can hardly be beaten: overlooking entire Florence from the terrace and some of the rooms. This is a small hotel with only 18 rooms. Do not expect lines of concierges and waiters awaiting your call. Then: go elsewhere. This is what you will find...

Staying in Piazzale Michelangelo

Neighbourhood Profile
Piazzale Michelangelo
Just outside the ancient walls of Florence, Viale Michelangiolo starts. It is a winding road rimmed by wonderful poplars and holm oaks. The long ascent opens up to the most beautiful and famous panoramic viewpoint of Florence: Piazzale Michelangelo, where an elevated terrace offers visitors an incomparable and breathtaking view of the entire city from above. During good weather, Piazzale Michelangelo provides visitors with a serene space surrounded by the amazing landscape, better if accompanied by a fresh gelato from a local kiosk. During night, visitors will be dazzled by the warm lights of the capital of the Renaissance. Spend a second with the silent Romanesque beauty of the Basilica of San Miniato al Monte: the one that wishes good morning and good night to Florence!
