I loved these people - Gassim, Miriam & Robert were wonderful, and I highly recomment spending time with them. Our rooms were spacious & clean, the location was perfect. (Due to flight delays, we arrived after midnight and the hotel was a bit difficult to find in the dark. Since street numbering is not necessarily sequential, we were looking for...

My husband and I visited the Hotel Europa for our first wedding anniversary. We had a fantastic time. We had a corner room with a balcony overlooking the Duomo- very romantic! We chose the Europa because my husband had used this hotel for business for nearly 20 years. The owners- Gasim and his daughter Miriam- have become friends. The atmosphere...

I was in Hotel Europa with my mother for five nights. I chose it based on the tripadvisor reviews and I was very satisfied. My priorities were the location and find a place one can rest at leisure. The hotel was best two star hotel I have been and the most expensive. Yet I think it was really worth of...

Hotel Europa is a well located well run hotel. Miriam and her father run this little hotel, which is in the heart of the city, with care for their guests. I would stay there again should I return to Florence.....Joe A. Cape Cod, Ma.

From the perfect location to the spacious comfort of the rooms, this hotel would be hard to beat. It is just blocks away from the Duomo and the mercado (and a Mail Boxes Etc in case you shop too much and need to send things home). Waking up to a breakfast that included a cappuccino was delighful but the best...

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Europa for 2 nights at the end of April and had a terrific stay. We arrived very early on a Wed. morning because of a last minute change of plans, and were immediately met by Gaseem who took our bags, sat us down in the breakfast room, and made us cappuccinos so we...

Just returned from 3 nights here, highly recommended. Very central, 2 minutes (if that) walk south to the Duomo, and an easy walk from train station. We stayed in a pleasant, light room on first floor with a view over a central courtyard - main hotel is on the second floor. The staff at the hotel, Miriam and her family,...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
