This is a lovely B&B although they don’t serve breakfast! It is ideally located next to the Riccardi Medici Palace. A short walk to the Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore, the heart of Firenze and numerous restaurants. There is a nice, if expensive, restaurant/cafe for breakfast, La Ménagère, a few doors down or you can buy provisions in the well stocked Carrefour supermarket opposite the B&B. You can also use this as a reference for the location of the B&B, as a few reviews I had read had difficulty in finding the building. The room we had was large enough for 4 people. There is a/c and the beds and pillows were very comfortable. It’s quiet at night despite the bustling street to the front of the building. There are stairs up to the 2nd floor where the entrance is, no lift. It’s an old building. It would be nice to have a mini fridge in the room, but that’s were the supermarket is useful. We had no issues with the guest house and Merley, the manager/receptionist was very nice. We would stay here again and recommend this B&B.…
The hotel was beautifully decorated and centrally located, no question. Our room, however, was tiny, smelled like stale perfume, & I felt like there wasn’t privacy. The safe was permanently locked, so they brought us another that could easily be carried away. The air conditioner produced very little cool air, making things even more uncomfortable than the hard-as-concrete bed. (And after climbing four FULL flights of stairs just to get to the main floor, you want cool air and a comfy place to lay down.) The tile in the bathroom was gorgeous! Unfortunately, when you shower the bathroom floods, and the floor becomes one huge ice skating rink; sacrificing a bath towel on the floor didn’t help. There wasn’t room to put things. In order to set up my CPAP, I had to relocate a tiny lamp into the armoire, and I had to take my toiletries into the bathroom one at a time. If the remote to open the main door doesn’t work, DO NOT use the key. You might accidentally lock the doors, and they are beyond difficult to open. The girl at the front desk (who was always very nice and helpful) sounded like she was going to break them down before they finally gave way. Heaven forbid there’s a fire or other emergency with people inside... And this review is only for OUR room! My in-laws were across the alley so they could have the rickety elevator, in which they became stuck. I can’t comment on breakfast because we really wanted to just leave. I can’t express how much I wanted to like Florence Dream, but it was more like a nightmare.…
We stayed for 4 nights in the annex building. Room was huge and we had 4 beds. It was conveniently located and all the major attractions were within walking distance. Breakfast was good although it would have been better if our room was in the same building. Anyway the annex building had a lift so we need not carry our luggage up any stairs. WiFi needs major improvement.
We stayed in several inviting rooms here. It’s actually very charming and has none of the business like ambiance of an organized professional hotel. It’s the owner’s labor of love and it has spaces that are beautifully conceived and decorated with taste and style. It’s clean and fresh; breakfast is served in a tiny lobby area by a conscientious and obliging troupe of Filipinas. There are some stairs up to the accommodations that will keep you in shape. This inn is a lovely surprise in one of the world’s most cultured cities. Reserve well in advance and at that time specify your tastes, needs and preferences in detail.
We stayed here for a night while visiting Florence. We thouroughly enjoyed the beautiful and very clean room and the great hospitality and service. . Breakfast was delicious. Very reasonably priced and convenient location.
My family and I wasn't expecting much from this hotel at first. However, once we got our room, we loved it! The room was beautiful and we realized that the hotel was also in a very central location. The staff was also really friendly, and the breakfast was also very nice. However, there was a major issue. The WiFi was terrible. I couldn't access anything on my phone or laptop. All they need to do is fix that issue.
Florence Dream is in an excellent location, near the Duomo and Mercado. The bed was quite comfortable and the room pleasant. Glad we had an aircon unit. Walking up two flights of stairs (no lift) was not my favorite thing but we did not have much luggage. Their breakfast is excellent, especially the scrambled eggs -- tough to get good eggs in Europe. They secured us a parking spot in a nearby garage, and that was nice. My only complaint is that the wi-fi was so bad it was pretty much unusable. We complained and they suggested rebooting our devices, but that did not work. For just two nights we could live with it. If you really need a strong internet connection, though, skip this place. Otherwise, it's very nice and the staff is courteous and helpful.
We weren't too impressed with the entrance to this hotel, but once inside it was very clean and comfortable and welcoming, despite the two flights of stairs to reach it. Our room was at the back and over-looked other courtyard gardens, one with a little pool in. It was clean, it was neat and we slept well - which is, after all, what you need from a hotel. The shower room was small and would have benefitted from a shelf and some hooks. The shower itself was quite powerful, even though the shower head leaked out the side, but the drain away was very slow and I worried about flooding. There was no grip rail in the shower, but the floor was not slippery. The plug in the bidet didn't stay in and one time there was no hot water in the evening. The air con in the room was most welcome as it kept the mozzie's away - although we both got bitten. The furniture was eclectic so say the least, especially the wardrobe, but it worked! The breakfast was good, nice natural yoghurt, nice freshly cooked eggs, lots of bread/toast with butter and jams and reasonable coffee. The hotel was fairly close to the market which is open until 12 midnight for eateries and to the Duomo and all things Florentine so it was a good location - a short walk from the station. Very helpful staff and yes we'd go again, but it is a 'no frills' hotel without any of the little extras that can make a stay much more enjoyable.…
We spent 3 nights in the Michelangelo room which was beautifully decorated and so very spacious and comfortable! The room was very clean and had very good amenities. Daily breakfast was delicious and the breakfast area was charming. The very best part was Mary! She was very welcoming, insightful, gave us excellent tips on all the main sites and made us truly feel at home. Her service was exemplary! We plan to return to Florence and will certainly stay here again without a doubt.
Centrally located within a 5 minute walk to the Duomo, beautiful interior in a historic building. Special thank you to Perla, she was very helpful and friendly, even helped us with carrying our suitcases up to the second floor (there’s no elevator in the building). Not many rooms, so has a very cozy atmosphere.
