We visited Florence and Palazzo Galletti on our honeymoon. We stayed in the beautiful suite Cerere, and even though we had seen the pictures it was still amazing to enter that room. The fresco's are just gorgeous, it's like sleeping in a museum! We really liked that Cerere had a more private balcony. We had previously spent 1 night in...

We stayed in 5 hotels throughout Italy. Without a doubt, the Palazzo Galletti was the absolute best. It is a 10 minute walk from the train and five to the Duomo, ten to the market stalls, 15 to the Ponte Vecchio - all of Florence is within walking distance. There is an enormous flight up the stairs, so it's tough...

We just returned from a 2 week trip to Italy, and stayed 3 nights in Florence at the Palazzo Galletti. We were fortunate to be able to stay in the Cerere suite, which as many here already have commented, is absolutely beautiful. The ceilings must have been at least 15 feet high and the bathroom was extremely large (particularly by...

We stayed in Suite Cerere for 2 nights in Mid March 07. The attention to detail was amazing in our suite. The smell in the whole Palazzo was gorgeous. The suite was very grand and very beautiful.... it almost looked like a museum. It was very clean and the staff were very kind and helpful. Bathroom was great too with...

The Palazzo Galletti was the best place we stayed on our trip to Italy. The room was beautiful, the staff were very friendly, and the location is close to just about everything! Our room had frescoes on the wall and a nice balcony. Although there was construction in the courtyard, we still enjoyed sitting out on the balcony, drinking the...

We stayed here for 2 nights while we were on our third visit to Florence. A stones throw away from Duomo in a beautifulfly restored 17th Century building, with frescos in the suite rooms. The owners were very friendly and helpful and the price was reasonable for Florence £93 a night for a double room with breakfast. It is also...

This place is incredible. The fact that it isn't an enormous (and therefore expensive, and BORING) hotel, makes it better. It has a courtyard, and some rooms have terraces! Try finding that at a hotel........ or the incredible artwork - thoughtfully displayed. This place is not just a random room in a building - what you see on the Palazzo's...

Its not a hotel, so visitors kindly be aware its a room in a building, the room which was a suite was spacious and tastefully decorated, it had all the comforts but no warmth. There is a constant rumbling of heating pipes which sounded like an underground train. We only stayed one night and moved promptly to another hotel. Its...

Excellent rooms and environment. Owners very friendly and helpful. Quiet at night. They recommended a Restauarant across the street which was very good. Just the job for a few days in Florence, within walking distance of attractions. For me: Highly recommended

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
