The location of this apartment complex is perfect, we had a Duomo view with balcony, and having the magnificent cathedral right outside was just perfect! Also short walking distance to all the other major sights. Noise not an issue for us - from the back bedroom we couldn't hear a thing, front rooms were fine with the doors closed. Internet...

My family stayed in a two bedroom apartment. It had high ceilings and big windows that opened onto the main square. It was perfect. We could sit in our suite and sip wine and listen to all the activity below. The young woman who sat at the desk was very pleasant and helpful. One minor issue that they can do...

This hotel is very centrally located right across from the Duomo. Here are the good things about the hotel: Spacious 2 bedroom, 2 bath, very clean, Marco the manager is absolutely delightful and helpful, a large free bottle of water and wine was provided. A TV in every room if that is important, only CNN and BBC in English. Some...

We stayed here last October and have finally got around to doing a review. Our 7 night stay here was fantastic from start to finish. Nora was so friendly when we arrived and we were given an upgrade to a 2 bedroom apartment with a balcony overlooking the Duomo. The apartment was spacious, clean and well appointed. The view was...

Our family of 4, 2 adults and 2 children stayed at Palazzo Gamba for 2 nights in September. We were extremely happy with our decision to stay here as it is so well located and we got so much pleasure from being able to open the windows and be right there in the middle of Florence next to the Duomo!...

Stayed with our two boys in a 2 bedroom apartment. The building is located right next to the Duomo and we had brilliant views from our bedroom window. Location is very central, 750 meters from the train station and in the heart of the old city. The quality of the apartment and furniture is very good. The apartment size is...

The Michelangelo suite has superb views over the duomo and baptistery - good restaurant recommendations from Marco. Alternatively the mini kitchen is handy for a snack or a more extensive meal. This property is very central so don't be surprised by a variable amount of ambient noise. Having said that listening to the accordion player from the window from a...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
