This was the best accommodation we stayed in during 3 weeks in Italy. For two days four of us shared a two bedroom apartment on the 3rd level with an outlokk over the Duomo and the plaza area surrounding the main entry and Bibliotek. It was wonderful after a hard day touring around to lean out the window sipping a...

We stayed in a stunning 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment in Palazzo Gamba a few weeks ago, in July 2013. Our bedroom windows overlooked the square in front of the Duomo, and we really felt that there was no better location to be in Florence. There was more than enough space for the 5 of us, and the apartment was...

My wife and I spent 7 nights in an apartment on the 6th floor overlooking the Duomo in June 2013. The location was excellent. We walked to most places and it was so convenient that it wasn't a problem to quickly duck back to the apartment during our touring. Our apartment was very spacious, very clean and very comfortable. There...

Walking by the entrance a few years ago, I thought Palazzo Gamba was a hotel, so I stopped in. The manager told me it was an apt. complex, so I proceeded on my way. He chased me down the street and asked what was it I was looking for. I told him that I came to Florence frequently and was...

Palazzo Gamba is perfect for those wanting a nice apartment right in the middle of everything in Florence. We stayed in a two-bedroom suite for 3 nights, which for us was the perfect duration and location to cover our “must see” elements of Florence. Our huge windows literally opened onto the piazza of the Duomo – which is both lovely...

The location is really nice, staffs are helpful and nice. Rooms are big and clean. I would definitely come back. You can watch people visiting duomo church as it is really close to it and can get a very nice shot of duomo from your room. Really had a nice time in Florence, very lovely city.

Great Location, Location, Location, we had a large 2 bedroom apartment with balcony overlooking the Duomo excellent base to explore the city.... Only downside was because of the location it was a little noisy at night and the kids had some troubles falling asleep - I am sure the accordion player was very good but just not on continuous loop...

There is a reason this apartment/suite has no poor rating. The staff are excellent, the rooms are spacious, clean, and well furnished. The extras given are of great quality and truly appreciated. Wi-fi is great and based on floor by floor. The location, the heart of Firenze, next to the Duomo, in walking distance of the train station, the Uffizi...

An outstanding location second to none! You can watch details on the walls of the Duomo, hear and feel the ringing of the bells. We checked in easily, tiny little elevator but it did mean we didn't have to carry things up stairs. We'd been upgraded to a Duomo view which was great. Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
