This was our first trip to Florence and we would stay here again. The was perfectly located around the corner from the Duomo and down the block from the Uffizi. Giorgio and Silvia were very helpful and hospitable. Ask Silvia for her favorite Gelato spot...it was delicious and one of the highlights of our trip! As expected, the shower and...

My fiance and I did a trip all over Italy, and this was by far the best hotel we stayed in. Very reasonably priced for August, and the room was large when compared to other places we stayed. The breakfast on the terrace was pretty and convenient, and the staff was more than accomodating. Bathroom was very clean, bed was...

I was recommmed to Residenza Giotto by a friend while making last minutes plans for a trip to Italy. The staff was responsive and accomodating. The location is perfect if you want to be within walking distance of it all. Rooms were clean and breakfest was served on the patio with the Duomo as your background. We will return again...

The proprietors Giorgio and Sylvia were wonderful hosts. They welcomed us warmly, made us feel at home, gave us recommendations for restaurants, made reservations for museum visits for us..all in impeccable English and always with a smile. Our room, which we afterward found out was called the Honeymoon Suite, was perfect, large for Europe, quiet, with a beautiful bathroom, a...

We were greeted very warmly by Silvia who showed us our room and beautiful breakfast terrace. The room was spotless and had a wonderful view of the Duomo. Silivia gave us some wonderful suggestions of places to eat, see, shop and avoid. In room internet service was a huge plus, and a refrigerator in the room was an added bonus....

The staff was great--Silvia was very kind and helpful. This was one of the most convenient places to stay in Florence. Enjoying the views of the dome and bell tower from the breakfast terrace was a thrill since it was in very close proximity.

This B&B was great for the price. We had clean towels, air conditioning, and great breakfast. The view was amazing and staff was very accomodating. You are literally a stone throw away from the Duomo and close to a lot sites to visit. You will get woke up in the morning by the bells that ring in the Duomo..about 7:45...

The title tells all. Very well situated, just a few steps from the main Cathedral. Our room was beautiful and comfortable, with a view on the Cathedral. The bathroom could be in a better shape, no problem with cleanliness though. The staff is exceptionnally polite and helpful, they really seem to hope that their guests are having a good time...

Residenza Giotto is located in the heart of Florence, only steps from the Duomo. The location really couldn't be better. The charming roof top terrace was the perfect place for breakfast or a take out piece of pizza. Giorgio was a great host and provided a map with lots of great info as well as our own set of keys...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
