Its central position is perfect to reach any place within few minutes walk. Soggiorno La Cupola occupies only the top floor of a building, so keep it in consideration when you are going there for the first time, otherwise you get lost (as I did). The staff was kind and helpful. They give you keys to access directly the front...

The location was amazing, although a little noisy during the evening and he staff were very helpful and friendly. The view from the terrace was great and worth the extra steps we had to climb. The only negative was the shower is VERY small and was quite moldy We would stay here again and I would recommend it to others.

The place is great If you are not too pretencious. The view from the large room and from the roof are unbelievable and its very romantic in an old fashioned way. Like we were in a pansion from the end of the 19th century (not counting the tv) the host was very kind and very helpful. The price for this...

Very basic apartment with small rooms. The toilet/shower capsule inside the room is a bad idea and stunk with mould. Breakfast was a Croissant and a coffee from a unhappy looking guy in a cafe across the road. Pricing was reasonable considering its location, 400m from the Cathedral and the staff were nice people.

If you want to live in dark, tiny stuffy place without air conditioning, fridge, and Internet. If you want to see every day the wall of the building infront of you, to listen the breathing and constantly moving neighbours, to have overused patched towels and even begging for them every morning, to wait hotel representative more than 1.5 hours after...

The location was great, the room was dirty, the shower dirty and I ended up with a fungus on my feet. The bed wasn't too comfy. I would not recommend this place. The "Full Italian Breakfast" was a croissant and coffee.

The location of this place is fabulous - you even have access to the rooftop garden where you could take up some beers and enjoy the afternoon with views of beautiful Firenze and the Duomo. However, it's not particularly clean or comfortable, alas you get what you pay for. Florence isn't the cheapest city for reasonable accommodation so if you're...

I really enjoyed my stay here. It was a great location, and the woman who worked there was very kind. There is free Wifi. There is also an awesome view from the top of the apartment. There is one bathroom for eight people, and it was clean. I recommend this place. Only 30 Euros.

We stayed for two nights and were in room 3. Perfect location being around a 10 min walk from the station and 3 min walk to the Dumo. The staff are not on reception all of the time so make sure your mobile is on as they may ring you (like they did us) to ask when you will arrive....

When we arrived we could not have been happier with this hotel. The lady on reception greeted us with a smile and the rooms (for budget accommodation) exceeded our expectations. We booked two rooms which we thought had shared bathrooms so it was a real result when both rooms were ensuite and not just basic ensuite the shower was hot...

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
