I stayed here with my wife and two children (21 & 16). Great location, near the market and walkable to all sights and the train station. Met Katti at check in, she was very efficient and friendly and spoke excellent english. They had a great breakfast with a very pleasant hostess (never got her name) and appreciated the fact that...

My mom and I stayed here for 5 nights and truly enjoyed our stay. The rooms was clean and quiet and we were grateful for the A/C. The lovely host Maria was very helpful in organizing a trip to cinq terre. Even with a language barrier, kindness and patience prevails :) The location was perfect and the price was right....

I feel bad putting down this place, so I'll start with what's good. The location: it's ten minutes from everything, between the train station and the Duomo. Cheap: We paid 85 euros a night, which is amazing for central Florence. A/C: the air conditioner actually worked! Quiet: Unbelievable that on a busy, noisy pedestrian strip you get such a sound-proofed...

True Italians who really care about their business and their city. We will only stay here on our future trips to Florence because we feel like one of the family. Anna Maria, her husband, and her daughter Katti are the real deal and they are open to conversation and any special requests. It is obvious that they are proud of...

We really enjoyed our stay here at Katti House in Florence. We stated for a few nights and it was very nice, clean, and comfortable. Maria was so nice and helpful as well. And the restaurant was delicious as well. We got a steak and it was huge! Would come back again!

I wish there was a rating between "average" and "very good," since average sounds like a negative, but this B&B was a good value, and an easy walk to the Duomo. As others have said, the owner speaks very little English, which made it a bit confusing when, after taking our bags up the stairs to the check in area,...

My two daughters and I reserved one night at Katti House. Got a good rate with cash payment as a Rick Steves recommendation. Good communication via email. We were disappointed to learn that we had to stay at the nearby B&B not Katti House. The woman helping us did not know the internet connection code, spoke little english, and said...

When we travel, my wife and I look for a clean, comfortable room, central to the old city, with local flavor. The Katti House was all of that. Not a 4 star hotel, but not 4 star pricing either. Owner spoke little English, but she is very nice and a gracious host. We found her restaurant to be among the...

My sister and I stayed here for one night. We had difficulty connecting with the owner, Maria, when we arrived. No one answered the bell. A sign directed us to the restaurant down the street, also owned by Maria, but that was closed. We came back later, having to schlep our luggage in the meantime. Maria speaks almost no English....

They have added to the original pensione with a piano2 down the street, giving travelers a choice between the original eccentric and wonderful hotel in an energizing locale with her tables-on-walking-street trattoria next door, or a more reserved and quiet brand new quarters in a buildingi with apartments and professional offices. In reading the ratings, keep in mind that some...
