The hotel was in what seemed to be the "Hotel district" which was about a 10 minute stroll to the centre. The room was quite spacious with a spacious bathroom although the shower could have been a bit larger. The decor in the main building was good but in the room lacked a bit of character. We had a balcony...

We only stayed for 2 nights but were very happy with the accommodation and pricing. Breakfast is included and is very nice, lots of options including croissants, fruits, yoghurt, eggs, hams & cheeses. It's located a little out if the main centre but the walk along the river is nice. So if you don't want mind a 10-15min walk the...

Just had an excellent stay. The hotel performs above its rating and price range. Very friendly and helpful staff added to the enjoyment of our stay.Located in a quieter part of town but just around the corner from the tram stop that takes you to the main station and easy access to the centre of town. Well worth considering.

A very lovely spacious family room, extremely friendly & helpful staff, a classic building. An ok distance from the main station (SMN) from the 'general centre' & very close to the river. It is well placed in a quiet area & has good facilities. Perfect for our short stay.

Stayed at this hotel for one day. I absolutely loved it. Located in an old building this place captures all the charm of Florence. Rooms are small, but it was OK for one night. Our windows faced the the little yard in the back. Breakfast was a typical Italian breakfast. Will stay here again.

My sister and I LOVED this place. It is quiet, in a nice neighbourhood and the rooms are very clean. We also loved that it was so easy to find! You just follow the canal. The streets in Florence invite you to get lost in them and find lovely nooks and crannies, but if you can find your way back...

If you're expecting the ritz, you'll be disappointed. But for what you pay, you definitely get your money's worth. The main owner is a lovely guy. He went out of his way to accommodate my dietary requirements for breakfast. The breakfast buffet is excellent. The hotel is run down, but clean. It's not great, but I've paid more money for...

Stayed here on personal recommendation and have nothing but good things to say about the place. Great location (10 minutes from train station, 20 minutes walk to the historic centro), friendly staff can get you anything you need, great breakfast, clean spacious rooms, what's not to like!

The hotel has a very friendly staff and an excellent breakfast, when you take the cheap nightly rates of the hotel into consideration. Often, hotels like this have the most boring breakfasts that will leave you still being hungry. But the breakfast at Hotel Crocini consists of both scrambled eggs, sausage, boiled eggs, fruit, toast, yoghurts, cheese, ham, croissants, Italian...

3 nights stay in this cosy hotel brilliantly located , a 10 min walk from the old city center of Florence. One of the best complimentary breakfast and courteous service to boot. Outstanding value for money. Will definitely be back!

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
