As other clients complain, this Hotel where occupied on the 4th floors Old beautiful Florence iconic building is actually not a "Hotel" but very nice small condotels with no direct reception,no lift ( be careful for seniors and disable). Very interesting for people who want to appreciate of staying in old Florence with traditional old fashion way (do not imagine luxuries...

Had to wait 45 minutes for the "receptionist" to turn up to let us into the "hotel" which is on the fourth floor of an old palazzo with no lift. The room wasn't really worth the climb or the price: small, dark and poorly lit. The bathroom was basic with a tiny shower and toilet that wouldn't stop flushing. I...

Room itself is spacious, clean and nice. Not much time spent in room as central location makes sightseeing easy. 5 flights up makes for some special planning! Shopping and nearby restaurants add to closeness of Duomo and other major sights

We arrived a tid bit late talking 45-60 minutes late because our train was delayed, we could not get a hold of the front desk because we could not get wifi, and the pay phone across the street was in Italian. Not helpful, after a long long incredibly hot day dragging baggage we could not get into the hotel. I...

This hotel is a gem, it couldn't be anymore central to Florence, with all sites within walking distance. It is clearly a smart part of town with Chanel, Bottega Venetta etc on the street. There are many stairs however to access the hotel, 4 flights I think, and there is no elevator however this is all stated on their website....

located in the center of city, convenient to go anywhere such as train station and shopping district. Only takes 20 mins and spent 27 EURO dollars to go to airport. Clean and spacious room. The most bad thing is no lift, need to walk upstairs to 4th floor (the top one).

Excellent Central Location - right in the heart of the Luxury Fashion District. Friendly, prompted checking-in service by Franco. Told us great places to visit and Florence's recommended restaurants. We stayed in the first Suite with studio room. Very clean and spacious. Hydro Bath and good shower. We drove to Florence and used the Garage service. Picked up and dropped...

We went to 3 different “Toranbuoni” before we were able to find the location. It’s was difficult to find, we searched for almost an hour! spent $448US for 3 nights for a really big room and a big bathroom. To be clear, its not a hotel. Its more of an apartment that rents rooms with private bathroom. So technically, it’s...

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
