I was in Florence for the last nye and I've been staying at this lovely b&b in the heart of the city. Very nice atmosphere, cozy rooms and perfect location for enjoying at best the city. Veronica

I am from Australia and went to Florence and found this beautiful place to stay. Converted palace right in heart of Florence near all the sights, most of them can be seen out the window. Gorgeous deco and warm welcome. good value for money too. Loved it so much I am going back this year.

Our room was in the front and right above the market below. It was very noisey even in the middle of the night because of the street sweepers. A little better with the window closed but we had to wear ear plugs. Other than that, the place was great. :) Friendly, good breakfast, great location. Even without the noise, it...

Really nice family run establishment with a warm hostess. Very nice breakfast and terrace to enjoy a coffee in the morning or a wine in the evening. Massive rooms with extremely high ceilings. Very conveniently located. But the front rooms are so noisy that it feels like you're sitting in the middle of San Lorenzo market. With no AC, you...

B&B Canto de' Nelli was absolutely spectacular. From the minute we walked in the gracious host greeted us at the door and helped us to our rooms. The rooms were large and clean--far more spacious than any other place I have stayed in in all of Europe. Breakfast was large and lovely and the only thing better than the food...

I am an American student who heard of this B&B from the recommendation of a friend. If you want the comfort of home, an incredibly kind and hospitable host, the cleanliness and service of a five star accommodation, and the proximity to historical and cultural sites, then this is the place for you. I was impressed by every facet of...

First the good bits - great location, right next to San Lorenzo with fantastic view from bedroom window. Host was very charming and hospitable. Nice outside seating terrace at back of property. A lovely quiet place to sit with a cool drink. Now the not so good bits - our bedroom was at the front of the building which was...

The first thing to say about Canto de' Nelli is that the view from the rooms is amazing and cannot be overstated - a full picture window view of the cathedrals opposite and the markets below. The location is great - walking distance to all parts of Florence, and close to the Duomo. The markets can be a little noisy...

The rooms are larger than normal in a B&B. The hostess is friendly and helpful. There is a quiet airy atmosphere. Relaxing no fuss. The location is central. All the main attractions are within easy walking distance. There are three flights of stairs, and no lift. This place would not suit anyone with a bad chest.

Pros: close to everything, clean, big rooms, nice breakfast..... Cons: steep stairs, noise from market early in the morning(rooms next to the street), small size tv (only italian cahannels) considering room size.

Neighbourhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on Florentine dishes as well as international selections. Nobody leaves San Lorenzo without a shopping bag in hand or with an empty stomach.
