These apartments are well located, close to the station and easy walking distance to all the tourist sites. Our apartment was very well equipped and comfortable. I would gladly stay there if I return to Florence for another holiday.

I would not recommend this apartment to anyone. The only reasons we stayed put was because we had already paid a considerable part of the money. The floor is very dirty and it seems it hasn't been cleaned in ages. If you walk barefoot, it seems like there is something sticky clinging to it. The beds are most uncomfortable. The...

Management response:

Dear Guest, in reply to your comment please read the following: - The floor is very dirty: the antique cotto floor had been treated with a special wax to protect and nourish it. Unfortunatelly the liquid wax was not fully absorbed when you arrived, this is why you found it sticky. - The beds are most uncomfortable: all the beds...

We booked a 2 night stay in Florence as part of a 17-day anniverary trip. We arrived by train from Venice after 8:00 pm and even though it was dark, we were able to find the apartment fairly quickly. The Florence train station is a flurry of activity. Unfortunately, we were not greeted as expected upon arriving at the building....

Dear Lenny and Joanna, thank you for your review. The Rubino bath is due to be restored next month,: it is an antique bath and very valuable so it is worthy to keep, like an antique piece of furniture it tells about the charme of the apartment! The kitchen amenities have been improved with a new toaster and frying pan...

My parents and I stayed in the Zaffiro apartment for 3 nights in July. Very central location, 5 minutes walk from the train station and about 10 mins to the main attractions. We could pop back to the apartment for lunch or to freshen up before going to dinner. We were met on arrival by a young guy who required...

We had a most enjoyable stay at the Giada apartment and found it very nice to come back each day to our "home" in Florence! The location is good, within walking distance of everything that Florence has to offer. The apartment is nicely furnished with many Florentine features, and had everything that we needed (and more!). Margherita provided "spot on"...

We were greeted by the lovely Margherita on arrival who was very cheerful and helpful. The location is excellent - so close to the hub of Firenze. The accomodation was clean and everything we needed was at hand. The decoration of the rooms is personalised and homely. It was very handy to be so close to both the train and...

The location is very convenient, the rooms/building quite charming. In particular the owner/host Margherita took very good care to make sure we were comfortable and well informed about the amenities. She even ordered our 5:30am taxi for us in case my Italian failed me and I inadvertently requested PM!

My sister and I were thrilled to stay at Il Giada apartment. It was exactly as pictured on the website, but better. It was warm and inviting and peaceful and comfortable. We absolutely loved it. Margherita, the "landlady" is charming, delightful and a pleasure to deal with. If we ever go back to Florence, we would stay there in a...

We were fortunate that Margherita had an apartment available for us (spouse, inlaws and one baby) after our original booking was messed up. She was accomodating and allowed us to stay 3 nights until we resolved our original booking for a different place. She didn't mind that we had 4 adults and 1 baby for an apartment that was really...

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.

“This apt is on the first floor so there is one flight of steps to walk up. Other apts in the building are not part of the Fiorentia but everyone we happened to meet were quite nice.”

“If you sleep in the Diamante, the room next to the balcony can be noisy for a light sleeper. The washing machine was going most of the night for a couple of nights. Luckily, I'm a sound sleeper.”
