Carlo and his mother are exceptional hosts, and the De' Benci is absolutely beautiful. For our first experience in Florence, we could not have asked for more. The old-world charm, mixed with all of the modern conveniences, provides the perfect environment for exploring the ancient city. Our room, bathroom, and the common areas were spotlessly clean, breakfast was varied, fresh,...

We stayed here for 2 nights, Carlo is a wonderful host ~ he was most helpful in recommending a good place to go for dinner. The B&B is just beautiful, our room was spacious and lovely. Breakfast was delicious and Carlo's mom was so nice. The location is fabulous, walking distance to museums etc., and a short taxi ride to...

We spent three nights in the Leonardo room at the De' Benci B&B in May 2011. We enjoyed it very much. The location is excellent (close to the Duomo, Uffizi etc.) and the rooms are beautiful and spacious with big vaulted ceilings. The bathroom in particular is very nice with a large glass shower and big shower head. Carlo and...

We were on our honeymoon earlier this month and stayed at De' Benci B&B while in Florence. Needless to say we absolutely enjoyed our stay! It is a wonderful B&B, which is very close to places like the Uffizi, Piazza de Rupbblica, Ponte Vecchio, Piazza de Santa Croce... In addition to the great location, the B&B itself is not only...

This was our second stay at this wonderful place. Carlo was so kind and made a booking for nearby garage for us. On arrival we received warm welcome from owners. The room and bathroom were spacey and clean. The central location is excellent. We stayed there for 4 wonderful days.

My wife and I spent 1.5 weeks travelling around Italy and this was, without question, the best accommodation we had. The rooms are tremendous: clean, spacious, with modern amenities, well decorated, and with lots of character. The location is very good--close to the Uffizi. Carlo and his mother are very nice hosts. Breakfast is a buffet, and was very satisfactory....

We stayed at De Benci B&B "by accident" - the place we originally booked made a mistake and didn't have room for us, but referred us to De Benci, and we could be happier with it. Carlo and his mother run this lovely property, which is on the 4th floor of an old building, but there is an elevator and...

The accommodation met our needs and expectations in every way. It is a beautiful property, superbly decorated and furnished, comfortable and clean. The breakfast was good with plenty of variety. Carlo and his mother were perfect hosts. We have no hesitation in recommending De Benci to visitors to Florence.

Last September, on a suggestion by a Tuscan friend, we spent 3 nights at the De Benci B&B in Florence. Located in the heart of Florence, just a few minutes pleasant walk from Santa Croce (e.g. less than 100 meters), the Bargello Museum, and Piazza della Signoria, the De Benci Bed and Breakfast is in a great location to feel...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
In the heart of the old city of Florence, just between Piazza Santa Croce and Piazza della Signoria, there is De Benci b&b, bed and breakfast in Florence, ideal base for visiting one of the most beautiful cities on earth and its art.The visit, the discovery of the capital of the Renaissance already begins within the walls of De Benci b&b.The atmosphere is very charming, stylish and romantic: you will be welcomed into elegantly furnished suites with every modern comfort (air conditioning/heating, private bathroom in room, digital lcd tv - DTV, internet connection, Etc.).The bed and breakfast is on the fourth floor of an ancient building (dating back to 1300) with the recent installation of modern lift. The thick and textured interior walls are painted rose. The doors are as light as ivory. Very wide windows let the light go in. The typical Tuscan floor and the ancient wooden-beam ceiling enrich the entire structure. In all over the place you can find small details in characteristic stone (i.E. Pietra serena), in ancient brick or in dark wrought iron and brass that decorate the environment, but soft colour and scent of wood reign over all. Every detail has been chosen with great care, taste and passion. ... more   less
