We picked this hotel for it's superb location. It is within 12 minutes walk from the train station and within minutes walk from the duomo and all the main sights in Florence. Unfortunately, we found that the sheets were not laundered properly. We found hairs in the bed and had to request new sheets. One staff member in particular was...

We were amazed how close the hotel was to the main attractions and to the train station. We were feet away from the Duomo so it was great to see all the people around. The owner of the hotel was really nice and they helped us with reservations and directions. Very quaint not luxurious at all but comfortable and location...

This hotel is perfectly situated. It is a super easy walk to the duomo, the Uffizi gallery and the academia. The rooms were large enough and comfy yet smaller beds. The bathroom was fine but caution! The shower is small but fabulous water pressure and temperature! The breakfast was good. Toast, croissants, yogurt, fruit, coffee and juice. Francesco was fantastic...

We stayed for three nights in the hotel, and it was great. It is located only two blocks from the duomo, the rooms were large and very nice. The ac worked good, as did everything else in the hotel. The price was very good, but the best part was Francesco. He really went out of his way to make our...

This is a brilliant little hotel tucked away in one of the buildings in the heart of Florence about a 100 meters from the duomo - the magnificent Santa Maria del fiore. The hotel wasn't tough to find and the service was quite good. The front desk staff was very helpful with recommendations for both places to eat and things...

We stayed 6 nights at this hotel. The rooms were very basic but clean. There was a charming patio for hotel guests where you could relax and enjoy the outdoors and a library/internet room if you needed a computer or to print airline tickets. The morning breakfasts were more than enough and we appreciated the long hours they were open...

This small hotel on one floor, like other Florence lodgings, is well situated and easily reached. It is accessible by taxi or on foot from the train station. There is a lovely breakfast room, a small enclosed garden with seating surrounded by the guest rooms, a coffee bar, and a living room area where I was able to entertain some...

We found this hotel to be very clean and tidy. Every day they came in and gave us clean towels and and made the bed. The bathroom was clean also. Our only complaint was the noise which (where it is situated) was not unexpected. By night three we had become used to it however the first night it was a...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
