Last minute call to Annalisa secured the last room in this wonderfully practical and nicely renovated B&B. Very hospitable English-speaking couple work hard to make your stay enjoyable. Well-located in the old town canal district with parking right in front, and an address that the GPS navigated right to. This was a solo trip, so i accepted the room with a shared bath just a few steps down the hall, modern and well-equipped, and not a problem at all to share with one other room. A/C was nice to have, mainly to reduce the humidity so common in Tuscany’s coastal areas. This is a great value! You can’t go wrong.

We were warmely welcomed by massimo. Room was big and nicely decorated. Bathroom ok and the view very nice. Quiet area yet close to centre and to the port. We had to leave at 0630 in the morning and were a mere 3 minutes later in the port to take a ferry!

Very professional and charming B&B. Massimo and Annalisa gave fantastic recommendations for sites to see. They are both terrific. I also loved the location. Livorno isn’t a glittery sexy Italian town- but for lovers of history it’s really interesting. It’s a pentimento of a city that has had a glorious past so you’ll need to understand that - but staying at Dogana was an important part of my enjoyable visit!

Annalisa and Massimo are the perfect hosts and their B&B is ideally situated for exploring the old town of Livorno. Our room overlooked the canal and boats and the breakfasts served were plentiful and healthy. Annalisa gave us plenty of information of things to do in the town and good places to eat - in fact all of her recommendations turned out to be very good. This B&B is professionally run and everyone and everything is catered for. The hosts really put themselves out for their guests in every way - Massimo even drove us to the airport at the end of our stay which was such a generous thing to do! We would recommend staying here should you be in the area. Thank you Annalisa and Massimo for having us to stay with you.
