Beautiful boutique hotel within the city walls. The hotel is close to the main centre, restaurants and attractions. The staff and management were exceptional, rooms were spacious, my bathroom was well appointed with an updated bathroom which included a jacuzzi. The breakfasts were fresh and generous. Our stay in Lucca was certainly enhanced by staying in this friendly welcoming hotel.

Albergo San Martino is on a small side street off of Corso Guiseppe Garibaldi, inside the city wall- a little hard to find but well worth the search. The hotel staff were very welcoming and eager to share their knowledge of the city, giving several recommendations of what to do and where to eat on our 1 1/2 day visit... More

This is one of those places that you would never find without trip advisor. Enjoyed a 3 night stay here which we enjoyed immensely. Decent size rooms with modern bathrooms all spotlessly clean and fantastic breakfasts. But the real gem of this place is the fantastic team of young staff that run this place. Highly professional, yet wonderfully friendly with... More

This was a very nice hotel for us, just inside the city walls, and tucked away on a side street, which made it less noisy. The rooms are quite large, and the bathrooms are very modern. The rooms have high ceilings with big shutters that can be opened and closed. We thought our large bed was very comfortable, but that... More

Awesome quirky hotel with great staff. Clean decent rooms good breakfasts good central location. Nothing glitzy about it just a nice wee hotel. Stayed there as part of a tour and would choose it again as independent travelers

I booked the Hotel Diana (2 stars) but wound up in the Albergo San Martino (3 stars) for the same price. The two hotels are managed together. I was in what they called the annex and it was a delightful place with a large bathroom and a good sized room. Both were immaculate. They are very friendly and helpful at... More

We loved this small hotel. The location was great and within walking distance from the station. Room very comfortable, breakfast although continental was lovely with lots of choices, and the young staff were so helpful and friendly. Lucca is well worth a visit and the wall walk is lovely. We went to the opera at the cathedral and thoroughly enjoyed it.

My recent stay in Lucca at Alberto San Martino was wonderful. The room was very clean comfortable and quite large for this type of hotel. Beautifully furnished, good facilities. The staff were outstanding. All young and very helpful and friendly. Great breakfast. Lovely lounge area and outdoor area. Would definitely recommend to friends. Regards Carolyn

Didn't know what to expect at first. Small front desk area but lounge and eating area were more than adequate in action. Staff very helpful. We stayed in the Annex - 3 floors up w/o elevator but they carried bags up and down if needed. Good selection at breakfast, mostly cold and Continental. We would stay again.

A great location in a wonderful city - a small laid back hotel in a small laid back city. Very friendly and helpful, recommending and reserving restaurants, nothing was too much trouble. Useful to have the option of a parking place nearby, although you don't really need a car in Lucca unless part of a bigger tour. Special mention for... More
