Guilio and Gaia were welcoming hosts, helpful and relaxed as was Giotto their beautiful dog. We stayed in the blue suite for three nights and loved the space, decor and details. The light and discreet views across the Piazza were stunning, as was the May weather. The ensuite bathroom is spacious and we felt very comfortable.Breakfasts were generous and the dining room/shared salon...

High ceilings, great bathroom renovation, the best breakfast we had in Italy, and lovely hosts. We will certainly return for a longer stay.

From the first moment, we felt very welcome by the very friendly and helpful owners. The rooms are spacious, clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was a fantastic spread. Location was very central in gorgeous Lucca and it was very quiet.

La Romea is centrally located and off the main drag to offer a quiet retreat in this beautiful curved historic building. My partner and I had never stayed in a B&B before, and we had our reservations. All reservations were quickly dissipated when meeting the charming and helpful owner. Walking up the 13th century stairs and opening up the door...

This is a GEM! It was just a wonderful experience. Housed in a charming 14th century building. First off, the owners, Giulia and Gaia, were so friendly. We asked for a room with an extra bed for my girlfriend's daughter. Because the large, deluxe room was not booked for the night, they upgraded us at no charge. The room was...

We just returned from a week in Italy, during which we spent our first two nights at La Romea in Lucca. Giulia and Gaia were the perfect hosts, making sure we knew where all of the sites and restaurants were in town. Our room was spacious, even for four (we stayed in the blue room) and the bathroom was huge....

We stayed in La Romea for 2 nights and it was the perfect location for a quick break in Lucca. When you look at a map of Lucca, it seems like its overwhelming - like, oh, the main square is THAT far away? Well, it's not. Lucca is super manageable and La Romea is perfectly located to see everything. The...

We stayed for one night in Lucca and wished we could have had another. The accomodations were great and Gaia, Giulio, et al were wonderful. It was the first hot breakfast we had on the trip (who knew you could miss freshly cooked eggs so much?). The location was perfect, right in the center of town on a small piazza...

This is a wonderful hotel, in the center of one of the most charming small cities in Italy! The rooms were spacious, clean, and exceptionally comfortable. The owners were available and helpful, without being obtrusive. The breakfasts were out-of-this-world! We spent 4 nights there, and thoroughly enjoyed all that Lucca offers. We were given very good recommendations for restaurants, as...
