We just returned from a two night stay at San Crispino.....beautiful! Adjectives I would use to save space....clean, affordable, convenient, attention to detail, great breakfast, very nice staff, romantic and so very comfortable. My only issue is with the hair dryer...annoying to use. So, if my only complaint was about a hair dryer...how wonderful is this place!

Centrally located but on side street away from the crowds that visit Assisi during the day. In the evening you feel back to Medieval towns, in the quiet streets and charming restaurants. The hotel has very nice rooms, apartment style, excellent breakfast and wonderful views from our room.

I went there with my wife for our 1 year anniversary after a suggestion of a friend and honestly defining it a surprise is an understatement! The position is more than strategic: super easy to reach and next to Santa Chiara. The views are breathtaking. In our apartment we had at the left side Santa Chiara and the Vescovato on...

What a perfect hide-out in Assisi. This unique suite in the city center is very sapcious and fully equiped. The two bedroom, two bathroom appartment does not only offer a living room but also houses a large terrace with the most specular view over the valley and the city. You can park close-by. The place is unique with it's ancient...

Overall this was a good 3 night stay. A fantastic location in Assisi, central yet quiet and only 2 mins from beautiful Saint Clare's Basilica. Rooms have a charming, historical feel and are comfortable. I had a nice view across the hillside below Assisi. Breakfast across the road was good. A little pricey to stay, but you are paying to...

I traveled to Assisi with three others and we had a quick overnight stay in the San Crispino Historical Mansion. We had originally reserved two studios but upon arrival they reported there was a problem and they upgraded us. The rooms were beautiful and spacious with a great view of Assisi and the Umbria area. The rooms were well equipped...

Regrettably, we only stayed one night during our tour of Northern Italy. It is a bit difficult to find but the Garmin go us here. We had the garden room. Incredibly large. There is a dining table that can sit six. An small kitchenette that has a superb Nespresso machine, refrig and hot plate. A bed on the main floor...

We stayed in Assisi for one night and thankfully chose the San Crispino residence. Karen Brown had given it a positive review and it was well-received on Trip Advisor. It is not a hotel so the staff go home in the evening (you get a key to the outer door). The staff is wonderful--warm, friendly and helpful. We arrived expecting...

We stayed in nine different accommodations during our recent trip to Italy. Because the following experiences were fairly consistent from place to place, I offer them not as criticisms but as observations on cultural differences. We found that beds were VERY firm, showers small, that toiletries always included shower caps but never conditioner, that bedrooms and baths contained highly scented...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
San Crispino Historic Mansion is the perfect place if you wish to spend an unforgettable stay in a real medieval ambiance, with all modern facilities, right in the historic centre of Assisi, the city of St. Francis. If you come inside and close the heavy wooden door behind you, you lose the understanding of the meaning of space and time. Everything is quiet, intimate and comfortable, you will have a chance to spend your holidays in the past: in fact all the units have been carefully and perfectly restored, named after the natural elements of the Canticle of the Creatures: Brother Fire, Mother Earth, Sister Moon and Stars, Sister Water, Brother Wind, Brother Sun and Beatitude. ... more   less
