Our room was uniquely within the arch over the narrow cobbled street below. Our shuttered window opened to the narrow street and to a small piazza at the end of which was one of the smaller churches of Assisi. The hotel was once a palace, or part thereof linked to its neighbour across the lane way by the arch. By...

We were told that the hotel was air conditioned, but it was not. Even the fan in my room was broken. The room was hot, and the bed took up most of the room. I couldn't unpack as the wardrobe was fun of extra bedding and only had 2 coat hangers. There was a mini fridge that held a few...

This town is georgeous and this little hotel is a gem, located very close to everything, (Assisi is small), it was very economical and the service was exellent, the breakfast very good and the room clean and the bathroom updated. We got there earlier than check in so our room was not ready, we went to have lunch and when...

This treasure of a B&B defied Garmin to find it, but the irrepressible guy who helps run the place, Luigi (Ferrata?)got us there in a wild mixture of English and Italian (since my wife speaks Italian). It is very conveniently located in this hilly town, has nice, clean rooms, good breakfast, nearby safe parking in a place you would not...

When we travel to a beautiful city like Assisi, the most important thing to us is meeting the people and enjoying the culture. We have just stayed at del Viaggiatore. We got the warmest welcome from A Elenora. We knew we were in a very quality hotel. Our room is very nice, the bathroom very clean and comfortable. Very central...

My wife and I had an overnight visit to Assisi with our friends and their two adult daughters March 7 and 8, a few days before Pope Francis I was elected. The town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the hotel and its staff is up to standards of Assisi. The front desk was very professional and helpful, the...

We stayed two nights at this little B&B. Loved the proximity of the hotel and Luigi Ferrata, the owner was a superb host! The rooms are comfortable enough though nothing luxurious but given we were out most of the day, we were very happy with the amenities. Luigi also recommended two fabulous restaurants: La Taverna dei Consoli and another which...

We stayed in the romantic room- there was frescoes painted on the ceiling and was in the arch connecting two buildings. It was a very quaint room with lots of character. The room and the bathroom were very clean. Breakfast was good and the staff were friendly and helpful. Location was excellent- close to the Piazza del Commune. It was...

Best wishes to Luigi and the team at Albergo del Viggiatore in Assisi, where we spent a wonderful two nights earlier this month. This is a confortable and clean hotel, with a very central location in a beautiful historic street, but the staff are probably it's key asset, particularly Luigi, who set us a task of seeing all the major...

When booking, we had told the hotel that we would arrive late by train - the Italian railway system works, but slowly! Even so, we were most pleasantly surprised on arrival, not only to be warmly welcomed by Luigi the owner but also offered dinner, which he had kept back specially for us. That was the start to our experience...

“Room nr. 40 is the only one with free WIFI, but ground floor location makes it more noisy and there's no view (just a window which opens on the back of the building, with almost no light). Room is also very warm (without heating, and in December!) It worked very well for us though, as my mother is 84 and appreciated not having to climb stairs.”
