The hotel is in a great location in Basel - about a 10-minute walk from the train station and close to multiple tram stops. It's literally right around the corner from the Kunstmuseum. The staff are friendly, with great English. We liked the library/lounge to relax in and we appreciated the tea, coffee, and sparkling water in the common areas. The hotel is stylish, quiet, and the beds are comfortable. Breakfast was OK, but I wish there were more hot food options.

If there is one thing I wish was different, I wish there was another entrance to the hotel. The entry is in a passageway that the hotel restaurant uses as an outdoor seating area. It's often filled with people smoking, which is unpleasant.

Dear Guest Thank you very much for staying with us at the Nomad and expressing your experience of your stay. We are really glad that you enjoyed your stay with us and thank you very much for your compliments which we will forward to our staff. Your feedback on breakfast is valuable, and it's common for guests to have preferences for more hot food options. Our management often takes such comments into consideration to improve the overall guest experience. It's unfortunate that the entrance situation was a drawback for you. External factors like outdoor seating areas and smoking can indeed affect the overall impression of a hotel. Providing this feedback can be helpful for us to consider potential improvements to enhance the guest experience - and we are very thankfull for your feedback. We are already looking forward to welcoming you again and wish you all the best. Kind regards, Robin Reception

A wedding was celebrated in Basel on May 25th, so our whole family was accommodated at the Nomad Design & Lifestyle, organized by our son. On arrival we were greeted very warmly with a welcome drink and then given the keys. We moved into the rooms, which were actually exactly what you would expect from a design and lifestyle hotel! The room has a lot of concrete, beautiful lamps, and a completely matching design of the beds, pillows, shower/toilet facilities; simply everything to make you feel at home straight away!

Nothing was missing at breakfast; the cappuccino was immediately provided by the team and so the big day started off wonderfully!

The reception team is very accommodating, professional and accommodates any additional requests!

On behalf of the entire wedding group, I would like to thank you very much for your extraordinary commitment and we would be very happy to see you again!

I went on a short vacation in Basel with my 12-year-old daughter and we both felt very comfortable at the Nomad Design Hotel. We slept very well in the beautiful room decorated with plants and lots of colors, and my daughter immediately took up the great bench near the window to read. We found the idea of the watering counter very ecological, practical and generous. We also found the location ideal: for sightseeing in Basel or cooling off in one of the nearby fountains or in the river. We 100% recommend the hotel. Thanks also to all the staff. We received a very friendly welcome, which I think is unfortunately rare in hotels these days.

What a wonderful place to stay, to eat and to relax. The staff members were kind, thoughtful, cheerful and funny without exception. it's an interesting design statement in concrete but that belies a real warmth in the welcome. The room was calm and well equipped. The L'Occitaine toiletries were most welcome. The hotel tries to be a bit green with water flasks to fill from the landing, natural linen bedding and cotton, quick-dry towels. The food was really excellent and the restaurant was busy most of the time with visitors as well as residents. Service was outstanding. We liked that the staff were to be seen having breakfast there in the morning. The hotel's really well positioned for museums, the riverfront, trams, buses and the main station. We never heard a sound overnight but we did stay in the rear block, away from the street. That said, the street was fairly quiet with offices around and no public transport directly on it. We had access to a lounge by keycard which was a little oasis complete with wine, beer, coffee and fruit etc. Don't know if that was available to all residents. A great stay in a perfect city break destination! Thanks NOMAD.

The location of the Nomad Hotel is brilliant: 11 minutes walk from the train station and very close to the city center. As soon as we entered, we were greeted by a visually very appealing entrance area with lots of small design elements. We were checked in in a friendly and professional manner and were able to go straight to our room. I immediately felt at home when I entered our hotel room. Very stylishly furnished with high-quality materials. A room that invited us to relax after a day at work and a long journey. In the hotel hallway there was a kitchenette with water, coffee and fresh fruit that you could help yourself to at any time.
For further relaxation and lingering, there was a library on the 1st floor with comfortable seating, books, magazines, board games, drinks and snacks and a fantastic view of the green courtyard. In the evening we had booked the sauna for 1 hour. That was pure relaxation because we had the sauna all to ourselves. It was divided into a hallway, shower, sauna and relaxation area with 2 loungers. There were towels, bathrobes, shower gel, shampoo, tea and water. Since we wanted to see the Vitra Campus, we rented two super practical and high-quality Brompton folding bikes, which were included in the hotel price. This meant we could cycle along the Rhine and experience Basel by bike. Very bike-friendly! Check-in was only at 12:00, which suited us very well as we wanted to sleep in. We would definitely spend a few nights at the Nomad Hotel again and have already recommended it to our friends. For us, it was the perfect hotel for a long escape-the-everyday-life weekend. Many thanks to the Nomad team for the wonderful stay 🫶🏼

The room included bed, chairs, and table for a cozy feel, while the lights and closet created a spacious feeling. The water tap, water kettle, and coffee machine in the hall made tasty coffee and allowed very easy access to amenities while not taking up space in the room. I enjoyed the sleek, artistic gym, with solid equipment made out of wood.

Breakfast included delicious bread. The Swiss cheeses made my morning, along with yogurt and homemade granola.

I also enjoyed one dinner there. They feature global dishes accompanied by beer from the local Volta Microbrewery.

Location near museums and public transportation (free with the BaselCard), just a short walk from the old city, made getting around Basel easy.

Easy storage for my luggage on the last day.

I look forward to the next time I can stay!

The hotel is in a very central location and if you arrive by car there is a parking garage within walking distance. The reception was very friendly and the first impression of the hotel was very pleasant. Unfortunately, our room was not the cleanest. (Lipstick stains on the drinking glass, hair on the pillow, stains on the duvet and it was better not to look at the floor behind the seat) The bathroom and the separate toilet were very clean, modern and well equipped. Finally a large shower that doesn't flood the whole bathroom. What was not at all pleasant was that you couldn't close the door to the separate toilet completely. It is therefore impossible to do your business in peace and therefore anything but pleasant for the companion.

Unfortunately, we couldn't open the window in the room either, which gave us an oppressive feeling.

Nomad is more than a hotel, it is a place to live. It’s always a pleasure to go back there. Upon arrival, we are warmly welcomed. The rooms are extremely well designed. It feels like a small studio. They are spacious and furnished with great taste where light wood dominates, which brings softness and light. Everything is done to make you want to stay there.
The hotel's common areas are very well thought out. For example, on each floor there is a small space that offers unlimited hot and cold drinks, as well as fruit. The breakfast room which also serves as a restaurant is very pleasant and the buffet served is of high quality. In a word, everything is perfect.

We really liked this hotel for its interesting decor; it is a nice change from regular, more sterile hotel rooms and typical hotel design. It is a moderate sized place so never felt crowded and always had access to staff at the desk. Our room was a good size with a nice, large window and small balcony. Separate toilet room was convenient. The room was clean, had enough storage space, some seating and a small table. Modern decor and little extras, like a camera you could use. Bed was comfortable, shower was good, lots of lighting options in the room.
The reception staff were A+. We never felt like we were imposing on their social time like we so often experience in hotels these days. They are friendly, helpful and seemed genuine in their desire to make our stay as positive as possible.
We ate breakfast in the hotel each morning as it is convenient. Of course, it is more expensive than if you grabbed a coffee and croissant on the street but it is a nice way to start your day. The coffee is good and there is enough variety in breakfast items to meet anyone's needs. The yogurt with granola and croissants were favourites.
The photos of the hotel and rooms accurately depict the spaces.
The library room was really cute (we ducked in to take a peak). There is an elevator but we usually took the stairs which give a nice workout :- )
Only negative is the bathroom lighting could be stronger as the bathroom is quite dark with the black tile.
Overall, we highly recommend this hotel.
